Moreover what confrontation are you talking about? I assure you some women can and do get in physical confrontations. Yes with men.
Are you speaking of say, one woman vs. 10 men? Yeah that'd be stupid. But then so would one man vs. 10 men unless it's a kung fu movie, in which case odds are in the favor of the hero of either gender.

And those men are losers.  So what.

My gods... the fact that you are literate enough to write a post is beyond my understanding. The biological difference is quite small, and when it comes down to it, the big difference is cultural. A woman (and please note, this is purely a generalisation), even in modern culture, is still not pressurised for strength as much as a man is. Therefore, the average man will put more work into improving his strength. I did not, and despite being male, am weaker than some women I know who are more athletic. A female Shepard is under more pressure for strength due to her military aspirations. Then, if we take gene enhancements into account, she could very easily cover that small biological difference.

More to the point, a damaging punch is more about technique than anything else. So, yeah. Femshep could easily be just as strong.

The genetic difference is a lot more significant than you think. There's a whole chromosone of a difference, in fact. An entirely different set of genetic instructions. They do still teach all of this in highschool dont they? Or did they burn all of the anatomy/health101 books when i wasnt looking?

As for United States military, we are also the best military and the only one doing any real fighting. And them support troops sure accounted themselves real well, didn't they

i could nt help myself to laugh at that statement , maybe there are some soldiers that should get told that since i remember one day one beside his hummer two soldiers on the side of the road doing nothing, we went to ask if something wrong , one  replied i have a flat tire , erm why dont you change it, well a wrecker is coming to change it , or that Abraham crew cutting my way while in RV 92 to ask where they were on a map and how to go to those coordinates because they shutted  down GPS and had no idea wtf they were or how to go somewhere or in a simulation 2 abraham crew losing versus an old Leopard crew from the Canadian Army ,1 Leopard going in the woods followed by 2 Abrahams minutes later   the Leopard comes out followed by the two Abrahams with white flags on their antenas , all three tanks had laser systems installed to record firing hits , white flags means you got destroyed (the Leopard had no white flags), i did not heard those stuff i eye witnessed it , so true maybe some American troops are better than others but it s not always the case

OK, we just know you're a troll now. Renegade/Paragon points have nothing to do with combat. And as I said, a woman's punch breaks bones as good as man's as long as she knows what she's doing. I've had a female martial arts instructor; I'd love to see you trying to take on her in fisticuffs.

Skill can only go so far towards compensating for strength.  Plus, how do we know that female Shepard is any more skilled than male Shepard?

Assuming they have equal skill, that means male Shepard should have all the skills plus extra strength since he's male.  When you factor in everything it makes no sense that a female Shepard is just as strong as male Shepard.

Perhaps renegade/paragon points don't relate to the action but they do make it easier to diversify with dialogue choices which would be appealing to some players.

OK I was going to keep quiet about this, however, you chose to go there so here it is.  Skill is everything in a fight.  A smaller, quicker woman, who is properly trained, can dance in and out of the range of a bigger stronger male and do more damage to him before he can ever touch her.  Also, getting hit with armor in the face is going to break skin and leave marks, male or female.  Don't care how hard you hit them.  I know women who have as much upper body strength as most men I know, want to let them take a swing at you and see if it hurts?  Heck, want to let me take a swing at you and see if it hurts?  I am a woman, I am trained in fighting, and I can hit pretty hard when I set my mind to it.  So don't tell me that because she's a woman, she can't hit as hard as a man.  That is just plain BS.

Man, if you don't know anything about genetics beyond the high school level, I'd shut up now if I were you. Your assumptions of genes dominating our lives beyond everything else are both utterly false (by any research done so far), and extremely disturbing by the implications of what those beliefs did in the past.
