Ok fine, how about in addition to the paragon/renegade thing we also give female Shepard the ability to use "seduce" on male enemies which will charm them and force them to fight on your side temporarily.  Kind of like dominate.

Would that be enough for balance?

The point is, the difference won't be that great when both are trained to the limit.

I really understand what you mean, but just don't agree. You are saying that training diminishes the difference, and I am saying that training may amplify the difference as well. Again I am not the expert here. If you are saying that you are an expert, then I should just bow and believe you.

Again, Shepard is a soldier and a marine. Marines aren't trained to seduce people, they punch them in the face and shoot them.. as is my understanding anyway.
No need for this femme fatale stuff some people seem to want.

Doesn't have to be femme fatale, but in BG2 if you're male there's a guy who hits on your female teammates, whereas if you're female you can respond and he gets all intimidated quite hilariously. I don't want it to be 'significant' in the way that entire quests are drastically different, but the small things make playing through as both male and female worth it.

He also says that a real man shouldn't be even dazed by a woman's punch, no matter how good she is. The difference in all practical matters is negligible enough to be a non-issue.

I don't intend to say that the OP was right about everything. I just point the absurdity of using the point of debate as an argument.

Greater mass always means greater momentum. As I said, good fighters compensate this, but seven-foot wall of muscle doesn't turn as fast as five-foot skinny guy.

I've already answered you on this point, read my post above.

I do not play as a female shephard but it is still a game, if people wanna imagine that woman can do things with their body that doesnt involve sex then go ahead. In the gaming world everything can happen.

Maybe there is an absolute threshold on how much strength an elite soldier can be engineered with no matter if it's a whoman or a man? Who cares to be honest, clearly Bioware is trying to make a point in displaying a nice mix of female and male bosses that could slap you silly in many different ways and having a protagonist male and female that can accomplish the same feats; it's incredibly sexy and fantastic for me at least :)

Maybe it's threatening to others who don't like the possibility of gender equality the game presents us with. I don't know, but this thread is rather futile in trying to disproof fiction with facts.

No, in Shepard's case I'm saying they trained to an equal level. Regardless of how they did it. ManShep may have had it easier. He may not. Maybe his extra strength was an advantage. Or not.
Doesn't matter. The point is, whatever happened, they trained to become the best among their peers, and that level of best is the same for both genders.

Training, on paper, only diminishes the difference as they would be trained to deal with people faster, or stronger, than they are. IN reality it would depend on the people.
As these two are exactly the same person, with the same 'innate combat ability' then they are equal no matter how you look at it.

Even ignoring they're coded to be the same.

I think maybe a regular man would be dazed a bit from a really tough woman's punch but a badass like Zaeed? No way in Hell.

There simply needs to be seperate situations for both male and female play throughs, its rediculous to see a female shepard punchout a turian or whatever

There's a very easy fix just use a body model for fem shep that looks like a figter woman (e.g. Cory Everson) and not barbie

HEY THE GAME IS ALREADY SEXIST SINCE IT DOSENT OFFER A REALISTIC ASSESMENT OF THE FEMALE GENDER AND THE BASIC PLAY THROUGH IS CLEARLY INTENDED FOR A MALE SHEPARD, YOU SHOULD BE ANGRY AT BW! NOT THIS GUY WHO MAKES SOME SOLID POINTS!

Sigh, I will repeat for the last time. One is male, the other is female. More than enough as a coding difference.

I don't see what the big deal is. Men have stronger melee attacks, but women have an additional ability. It would add variety to the gameplay and it would balance things out. Most importantly though, it would be realistic as a female Shepard should not be as strong as a male Shepard physically.

I once saw a 150lbs skinny guy beat a woman body builder who was more buff then this chick...and he did it left handed, wich wasent his dominantt hand, but was her dominant hand.

men have denser muscles.

I played through the game as a Renegade/Paragon mix female Shepard and I think that some of the more violent scenes were just silly.

One example is during Zaeed's loyalty mission while playing as a paragon.  Do you think a punch coming from a woman would really hurt someone as badass and mean as Zaeed?

They should've had her kick him in the balls or something.

Also during the renegade interrogation scene, do you really think it would be possible for a female Shepard to cause a man to bruise so easily?

I had this problem with the first game too.  Remember when Saren picks up Shepard and Shepard punches him and that causes him to drop her?

Do you really think a human female would have the strength to do that to a male Turian considering that Turians are supposed to be physically stronger than humans?

Also, female Shepard carrying Kaiden on her shoulders?  No woman is strong enough to do that.

ive seen with my own eyes my best friend a 5 foot 4 very slight build mother of 3 kids who is 35, take on a 23 yo male black belt who was 6 foot 1 and wipe the room with him, including breaking his jaw in 3 places after knocking him out from a single punch.

you really need to stop stereotyping women as weak
