I know that female Shepard is supposed to be really strong but that is the reason I created this thread.  It makes no sense that a female Shepard should show all of the strength of a male Shepard considering that it is a biological fact that men are stronger than women.

And so all the sh*t  about reputation and accomplishments mean nothing to you all of a sudden again? Shepard, regardless of gender, was able to do all that, which means he/she is basically the most badass human, if not person, in the whole goddamn galaxy. And NOW you're telling me she can't kick an ass when she wants to? Just because she's a girl? REALLY?

No. It's not "just because she's a female." It's, because she's a female, she (presumably, given nature and things like facts) has less muscle mass. This is apparent when you look at FemShep's in-game character model (!!!). This makes scenes where she's supposedly really injuring somebody with a punch to the face, or at least, injuring them as much as male Shepard injures them, seem kind of funny.

And no. This isn't making general claims that women can't ever fight or become strong. It's not saying anything about FemShep's martial arts skills or general military training. It's making a basic claim about what appears to be a normal sized woman's strength being passed off as perhaps *too* impactful in certain points in both games. It's a boring point. It's useless to talk about. But it isn't made false by the fact that there DO exist plenty of strong women. The whole point is that FemShep doesn't appear to be one of them!

Have you ever had any sort of martial arts training or ever trained to fight in general? Muscle mass is not always the best thing. It slows you down. My friend who has trained in martial arts all his life said he once had a much bigger muscles, but he slimmed down and he prefers to be quicker. Strength does not effect the amount of pain you can receive from a punch. It is a waste of time to put extra effort and energy into a punch when you can do just as much damage with little power to the correct point. The face is very sensitive and easily broken.

I still think I'm being lured into a trap again. The argument isn't that women can't break faces. The argument is that it takes a certain amount of strength to break a face, man or woman, and it doesn't appear FemShep has it.

If you're saying, "Actually kind sir, it doesn't take that much strength. I have been schooled in knowledge on the subject, and I can tell you that the muscle mass which FemShep possesses is sufficient to adequately deliver a punch to the face, and cause significant damage to even the most hardened of fellows" I'll be on board with that. I'll be the first to agree and trust me, the first to leave this useless thread and never look back.

I just want to be sure that the argument being had is the right one.

Yes, that is what I'm trying to say for the most part. As long as you know the proper technique and the right places to hit, you do not need a lot of strength or muscle to knock someone back or really hurt someone. I'm not trying to argue that women are stronger than men, I'm just trying to explain that Shepard is perfectly capable of knocking a man back with her knowledge and training in the military.

They can be agile, yes.
But not as agile as someone smaller with less muscle mass, that's my point.

mma has some musclulair guys doing very flexible things. flexibility only goes to a certain point where its handy in a fight.
rolling yourself up in a ball so you can fit in a tiny box is nice, but not usefull in a fight.

Again, a woman like FemShep has obviously been trained to use her LESS strength to it's peak.
And, a man like MaleShep has obviously been trained to use his MORE strength to it's peak.

The point is, the difference won't be that great when both are trained to the limit.

sorry but there would eb a huge difrence cause the limit of the man is much higher then a woman.
an very(at the top) good military girl is about the same as an avrage military guy

there are no woman in the special forces,...ever wonderd why? cause they are not up for it. there body cant endure the tasks and challenges it brings.
