It doesn't necessarily cripple female Shepard by making her attacks weaker, they could've compensated by giving her more renegade/paragon points or something.
OK, we just know you're a troll now. Renegade/Paragon points have nothing to do with combat. And as I said, a woman's punch breaks bones as good as man's as long as she knows what she's doing. I've had a female martial arts instructor; I'd love to see you trying to take on her in fisticuffs.
Skill can only go so far towards compensating for strength. Plus, how do we know that female Shepard is any more skilled than male Shepard?
Assuming they have equal skill, that means male Shepard should have all the skills plus extra strength since he's male. When you factor in everything it makes no sense that a female Shepard is just as strong as male Shepard.
Perhaps renegade/paragon points don't relate to the action but they do make it easier to diversify with dialogue choices which would be appealing to some players.
Oh for god's sake, you have no proof that ManShep's different muscle distribution automatically gains him significantly more strength and you've been repeatedly told how your assumptions are incorrect.

"Male" doesn't automatically equal "more strength". The strongest man alive is stronger than the strongest woman, but a woman can easily be stronger than most men, if she's got good genes and good training. If you seriously need justification, lets simply state that female Shepard trained her strength a lot more than male, since she needed to work more to get in the same results. As if it actually matters somehow.
Seriously, you're getting so clownish I don't even understand why I keep answering you.

And I have been hit hard by women in sparring practice even then it was an accident. I am a pretty big guy too.
So comes to hitting, Size matters not, young one.

what a troll , i used to be in the Canadian army (10 years) and it s known since a long time that artillery and infantry dont like each others (well i left since 10 years so things could have changed since then) anyhow one time there was a smoker (a kind of party with loads of people with people from artillery and infantry mixed up) a guy from the infantry came and acted tough and a woman from my unit punched the infantry guy and knocked him out cold with one punch so , that is a true story , so you d think that in the future women in the military cant knock people out ? troll fail
Well sure a wussy guy who thinks he is tough could get knocked out from a tough girl but female Shepard is dealing with really tough guys who likely wouldn't be phased much from any of her melee attacks.
I think a blue suns merc should take 30 percent more melee attacks to take down for example than with a male Shepard since men are on average 30 percent stronger than women.
It's not sexist, it's just human chemistry. Women have advantages too afterall.

yeah but I'm talking about male Shepard vs female Shepard. Not female Shepard vs Richard Simmons.
If you had a female twin do you think she would be as strong as you?

Well, at least everybody's smart enough to disagree with the clown in this case...

With proper training, sure. I'm hardly even near the top tier of potential male strength treshold. In other news, did you know that there have been several recorded incidents of a woman lifting a car several inches off the ground?

I like how you automatically assume that the guy being knocked out was a "wuss".
Guys don't bother, this troll just won't listen.

Shepard looks tough for a female but the game treats Shepard as having equal strength regardless of gender. This doesn't make any sense considering how a male Shepard would obviously be stronger than a female Shepard by virtue of gender. It's just a biological fact.
Because "gender" is the deciding factor of strength? Yeah, right. Women and men can be equally as physically strong or weak. Some where in between a man may be stronger but sometimes a woman can be stronger than a man too. I've met a few women who can bench press more than any man would attempt. Gender doesn't dictate everything, "Busomjack." Ignorance is your wrong and you need to crawl back under your bridge because I think you're just a little intimidated by female who can actually do some damage to a man.

A military woman like Shepard who has been trained to kill would know exactly where those points are.

So, we essentially have two versions of a person who have the exact same natural abilities, gene therapy, training and experience. The only difference is that the other one is male and about 30-40 kg heavier with clearly larger and better developed muscles.
OF COURSE he should have a more powerful melee attack.

There are certain spots on the body where with enough force applied, could kill someone. The face in particular has a number very sensitive points which would drop a person in a second. Think about what's on the face, the eyes, the nose, the cheekbones, the jaw. Strength does not matter, what matters is location. Pressure points, where a collection of nerves or blood vessels are centralized.
A military woman like Shepard who has been trained to kill would know exactly where those points are.

I actually have to agree with busomjack. Even discounting the differences between the sexes we have to consider the fact that maleShep simply has a lot more muscle mass than femShep.

And that makes you another person who confuses base muscle mass with the ability to use it properly.

So what you're saying is that femShep uses her muscle mass better than maleShep? Who's the one with the baseless assumptions?

We're talking about two people who are the same person except with different genders. Why would a male Shepard have less of an idea of how to effectively utilize his muscle mass compared to a female Shepard?
Logic dictates that their training and skill are equal so the only difference here is male Shepard having more muscle mass due to being male. That should give him more strength and thus stronger melee attacks.
