It's okay, he doesn't understand his own place in the world with his own gender identity crisis.  Give the poor guy/girl a break.

Uh... are we forgetting the fact that in ME2, Shepard is a CYBORG now! Does that make a difference?!

Male Shepard is a cyborg too so he benefits from the same cybernetic augmentations in addition to his strength advantage in being male.

Therefore I think melee attacks from a male Shepard should do more damage.

I don't see why anyone finds this thread reportable.  Why is this such a huge issue?

No one said she doesn't have any muscle at all. It's just that maleShep clearly has more.

And we're saying more does NOT automatically mean more effective melee strength.

Also, mm... pancakes.

She is the most elite of Alliance soldiers, has gene therapy to enhance her strength and endurance+cybernetic upgrades making her even stronger. Also, notice that even with gene therapy Male Shepard doesn't look like a body builder, maybe not even as big as Jacob, it increases strength, not muscle size. If you wanna see how hard women can punch you should ask a female marine(they DO exist) to slug you in the face with a bare fist, when you come around you'll realize how stupid your thread is.

It's an issue because you're ignoring everything people are telling you, reasserting your original point made from ignorance and stereotypical concepts.

And the fact that pure muscle mass alone gets you nothing, it may be easier for a man to brute force than a woman but with the proper training it is in fact about equal.
Those body builders who gain excessive muscle-mass actually do so to the detriment of anything else.

As much as I hate to feed the troll, this is obviously nonsense.
There's a reason they have weight classes in boxing.

That is not being sexist, I'm just stating that a person who has a natural advantage in strength being knocked out by a woman means he must be a wuss since he lost a fight despite having a natural advantage due to gender.

It would be like a human outswimming a dolphin.

Except a Dolphin is a different species.

Your comment was sexist as you implied a man must be a wuss for a women to overpower him.

Definition: Wuss: a person who is physically weak and ineffectual

That is sexist, because this "natural advantage" you speak of is not a universal rule and is easily overcome by any number of factors.
You stated that a man being knocked out by a woman, any woman, even a soldier, makes him a wuss.
You are sexist as all hell.

Sigh...

We're talking about male Shepard VS female Shepard.  Why wouldn't a male Shepard be stronger if he's identical in every way except for gender?  Are you saying that gender doesn't play any role in strength at all?

People, the main point here is not the statistical difference between men and women.

It's the fact that when you have two versions of the same person, and the other one clearly more muscle, they should be more effective at punching people, since they have the exact same skills.

personally, I think the punching system is too powerful for both of them. I should not be able to kill Krogans in three hits.

It was just an analogy, perhaps I could've thought of a better one but you get the idea.  Men are natuarlly stronger than women despite some outliers.

Always nice to think of Mordin in this case...

He's a rather nimble, skinny guy that flays people. "Never see me coming."

I always do like to think that people underestimate female Shepard. Hell, that makes it even more enjoyable when I snap someone's neck or kick a dude down a building.

I'm speaking in terms of people with similar weight.
And I'm not talking about boxers with my second point, I mean those body builders in muscle shows who grow their muscles to hideously excessive size. These people are basically participating in male beauty pagents, their excessive muscle mass actually hindering their overall strength.

Bruce Lee in his prime punched harder then Mike Tyson in his prime, not opinion, its a fact, they both had the force of their punches measured during their career's because they where so famous, there is roughly a hundred pound weight difference between them and Bruce still landed blow's with more force.

Now lets talk sci fi, in the first game Shepard male or female is a genetically enhanced super soldier, all alliance marines are. In ME2 Shepard has a ton of Cybernetic implant's, pay attention to some of the upgrades your Shepard get's, the bones and muscles are being replaced with more synthetic upgrades.

Men have the potential to be stronger than women. Despite of this, many women exist who are stronger than the majority of men. But never mind about words, go and pick a fight with a female soldier; after you get out of hospital, you can tell us how it went.

Female Shepard does not look like she weighs the same as male Shepard.  Male Shepard looks about 30-40 lbs heavier.

^This.
Once you're no longer limitted by human muscle fibers, there's no reason to expect standard size/strength relations to obtain.  Furthermore, once you start applying artificial augmentations, sexual dimorphism probably goes out the window.
