I was just watching Star Trek, and since in some ways Mass Effect is similar I think it would be cool if bioware was to create some mini expansions that give us side missions that have nothing to do with the main story. Some stuff that gives us some exploration factor to the game, to find some stuff of real interest just scientifically. I don't want this to impede on more important dlc but I just thought it would be cool. Like finding a species that is pre industrial and give us a small story line of us interacting secretly and observing them. Just an example, an episode like that came on lol and made me think of this.

It would be fun, but I doubt it would happen. We already have the Raloi making the first tentative steps for Raloi-kind (man, was their timing bad or what?) and simply put, ME doesn't have the same level of sophistication as the ST universe. You can't do in 5 years what a series has been doing for 40.

Not really, no. I mean, they both involve space, and ships, and they both have humans and aliens. But apart from that, they're about as different as two sci-fi creations can get.
