also Vasht that was some guy goofing off, I highly doubt he would be doing something so stupid in actual combat.

maybe so, but if he was hunkered down behind cover, he could provide suppressing fire like no other lol.

i say its perfectly fine to not like the idea, but dont try to argue it via realism. that is a concept that does not exist in a video game, and its just an exercise in futility.

As long as we're talking fantasy DLC, I thing Vanguard Shep should get a melee weapon. My shoulder gets kinda sore.

Why just dual normal weapons? Why not dual Slayers (rocket launchers) like in Perfect Dark?

/facepalm :?

That **** is heavy. Notice how he has trouble just getting the second gun up to a leveled position.  He also had to have the slung and used his entire body to deal with the recoil. He almost goes down when he starts shooting and has to adjust his stance twice.  There is no way he could do that down in cover and if he tried he would be forced to expose his head and upper body to do it. Not smart at all.
If you want to supress and enemy you want to actually be able to shoot in their general direction. There is no realism in that video. No solider in their right mind would be doing anything of the sort.  Maybe in the most dire of situations but even then it is better to have that second gun sitting next to you to pick up right away.

I think many need to sign up at their local gun range and go find out for them selves. They might even have a M4 or AR-15 for you to play with. If they do just pick it up and shoot it how you think you should shoot it without any advice. Just be sure you have health insurance and a few sick days saved up.

How about the flamethrowers? It might actually become a viable opption then :)

Why not a duct tape DLC? Tape a flame thrower to your assault rifle, Ripley-style.

Would seriously kick ass against husks and krogans.

At one point in time I would've laughed and said that BioWare would never include something as ridiculous as dual wielding weapons in Mass Effect, but with the "new direction" the series seems to be heading in and all the pandering to shooter fans it honestly wouldn't surprise me to see Shepard dual wielding in ME3...

Halo died with Halo 2, coincidentally when they introduced duel wielding.

Strange then that they've been able to make three rather popular games in the franchise since then. Sorry you feel that way but dual wielding does make some sense in the context of halo. I.e. a guy who can bench-press a tank can control two little SMGs.

That said Shepard can NOT bench-press a tank and should not be able to dual wield, I'd say a krogan would be the only thing that could logically effectively do this, even then they'd be limited to small pistols and such. Also anybody notice how BIG the weapons in Mass Effect are? The Predator pistol is the smallest and it dwarfs todays pistols, there's a reason all the ME weapons are collapsible.

Hell, dual wielding is soooo 1990s thing. We should have quadrupel wield like in Bayonetta!! And we should be able to use 4 Cains at the same time, with unlimited ammo. And Shepard should have lightsaber that has a chainsaw in it like GOW and Shepard should be able to morph himself into a vampirewerewolfbeargeth. And Shepard should be able to shoot nukes out of his ass.

Go play COD or some other mindles drivel and stop making idiotic suggestions.

lol ahhh that would be great. Duct take two Claymore shotguns together and give em to grunt for the great face smashing power. Or maybe duct take Jack and Miranda or Legion and Tali together for the laughs?

I can't even believe you would pose this idea, dual wielding is the stupid invention of "Gangstas" and its never been done well and never will be and should never be used!

...Indeed. Almost a picture-perfect matchup.
Btw, the duct-taped Legion/Tali would possibly make for a good melee weapon.

We can have dual wield or not, I probably wouldn't use them as long range weapons seem to work better in ME2 anyway but what is really annoying is the rudness of forum posters. Trust me your opinion is no more important then the OP.

Also, please, no more of you should go to the gun range or near any other weapon. You are all much too stupid and dangerous for this to be allowed.

And while we are adding duel wielding, also make it so Shepard starts shooting his pistol sideways! Thats would be GANGSTA!

So much hate for dual-weilding! It's maximizing potential. You need one hand for one pistol. Since you have two hands, you can have two pistols! The only thing I hate about it is the terrific recoil and low accuracy.

Sorry, I just want to cause trouble. d: Way too much overreaction, IMO.

If Blasto is "weak" outside of water, I'd hate to see him IN water. Watch out collector sharks.

P.S. dual-wielding = no

Its really funny how all of these posters talk about realism in a sci fi game that isnt hard sci fi but pseudo, slipping over to fantasy when it wants.

You can warp, reave, slam, charge, FIRE A CLAYMORE (that only a Krogan can handle) - but no no no you cant hold two pistols - get real.

Slap on a targeting visor, put on your combat exoskeleton, grab an SMG and heavy pistol and mow through enemies sheilds and armor like butter. Hell Adrenaline Rush for your matrix effect and Neo/Max Payne everyone.

Please say you dont want it in the game but trying to argue realism is absurd.
