No the story was about the Blight. Not you, you just happened to be there. It is about Grey Wardens role of protecting people against Blight. Not you, you just happened to be there. And the story is a continuation from the first. Its about Darkspawns...

Your final, biggest decision, doesn't carry over

One of your possible final decisions does't carry over, maybe, and for technical reasons. Were you expecting Bioware to rebuild the game engine just to accomidate one of many possible endings? It's still possible you might be able to have your choices reflected in game via a pre-start convo involving the new Warden and an NPC.

& Romances being mentioned is barely acknowledgement. This means that the face I import will not be my character.

Image IPB I can't begin to think how to reply to this really... Unless you only did one play-through with a single save where you're locked into killing the archdemon... and even at that it pushes the absurd.

Why don't you just come out and say you're upset because you can't get some cyber-bootie and pixel-******? Because that's what your argument boils down to, at least have the honesty to admit it, instead of claiming Bioware some how violated your "ethics".

And it's not direct. It's a different story, taking place in a different part of the world, that has to do with a more personal nature of the Wardens. It has the same world for it's setting and lore, but that's all.

It's a direct continuation of the original story, it takes place in the exact same part of the world -Ferelden- as the original game, features a good deal of characters from the original game, and even changes to reflect the choices your imported character* from the original game makes. This is fact.

*How US is handled remains to be seen.

Wooooooooowwwwww. Rebuild the engine for one cutscene/explanation? Are you seeerrrious? Wow guy. Just wow. Seriously, read more than just the recent posts: I've said like FIVE TIMES, relationships are MINOR, and the story -... look, just... learn to read. It's all there.

Good Boy.

Lol DoodleMG there was a similar problem in the "Big doubt..." thread,
where lots of people seemed to have amazing problems trying to
comprehend a text or understand a simple question or issue, the dude
that made that thread repeated himself like 10 times (iam not joking,
he had to say the same thing like ten times) and there were lots of
users that still didnt understand anything, it was like they couldnt
read, pretty amazing, sad and annoying.

Its funny
because i find much smarter people in sport games forums contradicting
the stereotype; and for what i have read in some threads i mut say i
have never seen sooo much stupidity or inhability to comprehend a text than in this forums, its really amazing.

As for travelling with your lover, it does say in the original

now you're back.

Romances are a minor issue, although it still bugs me.

No, the main concern is... say, Booting up the Expansion for
Baldur's Gate, and it telling you to upload a face or make a
new character.

Why does an expansion have to continue things exactly where they left off? Why can't it "expand" the world and introduce new characters, which is what Awakening is doing. I'm annoyed that the Ultimate Sacrifice ending isn't going to allow you to continue in the world with a different character, but maybe Bioware couldn't get it to work properly by importing that character.

Well so what you are saying is that say a player did the US...In his game he decided to destroy the circle of mages - you would be fine with awakenings having with the circle being up and running despite being destroyed a few months earlier? - same tging witht eh anvil o fthe void, which by the way IS very likely to come up in awakenings...therefore it isn't expanding anything or carrying over anything if these choices aren'r the ones the player made in the first game...I think what most fans just what the orlesian warden to have to function in a world where those major changes were made by the origins charcter that made the US

I know! If people would just read the topic posts, they would understand what has and has not been covered. Unless of course this Topic exceeded 10 pages... then I would understand repeats. But on the FIRST page? Come on, seriously...

Yep. That's right! :.D

I mean, it may only come up in mention, but it breaks the entire player connection when you destroyed the mages and they're all like, "Yeah. The Mage Circle of Fereldan sent us this!" :.D

I don't think anyone would go so far as to dig the dead Warden's Grave just to loot his belongings.. oh.. and generously donated all those loot back to the Wardens..
It would already be neat if you come across a merchant selling his previous gears some time in the future.

YOU said that, not me. After the US, they collect your body and burn it. At that time, they would most likely take your belongings and send them to the Wardens... since you were a Warden it's safe to say that all your crap would be property OF the Wardens.

Also, where in the world did they bury ANYONE? xD

They bury the Warden at Weisshaupt fortress next to Garahel's tomb. At least, that's what it said in the one US ending I've seen. (Yay for youtube.)

Oh! My bad then. So what... they buried your... ashes? xD

They explicitly showed a burning of a corpse. In 3 wonderful dimensions. (Since my character looked just like me - big nose and all - it was kind of creepy...)

Well... heh... the burning corpse thing is a bug I think. I know that if you've taken fire damage as you drop the Archdemon, your corpse is shown burning in the epilogue movie.
But it's not supposed to be Image IPB

A bug that actually works out well.

I only read the OP, so don't shoot me if I missed something (which I probably did), but just let me say...

Previous Bioware Expansions (skipping ToB, which was supposed to have been "BG 3"):

Shadows of Undrentide (sp?): Not only did it not touch the OC, but you actually started a WHOLE NEW CHARACTER, in a WHOLE NEW PLACE. Similar things happened with Obsidian RPG expansion, Mask of the Betrayer. You started in a whole new place (albeit with the same character, if you chose... similarities, yes?), with new abilities, etc.

Hordes of the Underdark: Again, nothing to do with the original campaign, except a few cameos... you continued your character from the 1st expansion, and none of the material transferred back to the original game.

Now, my memory may be fuzzy on a few of the minor details, but yeah... the main point remains. RPG expansions aren't always the same as other kinds.

I guess they buried your ashes. I dunno about the corpse burning thing. Like I said, I just watched part of the US ending on youtube.

I'm usually pretty far away from the archdemon when I kill it. Like around the ballistas. Cause I'm shooting at it with arrows and throwing spells at it. Keeps people alive better. So I've never actually caught on fire from it.

Frostajulie writes this but she can't seem to manage the quoting stuff correctly.

People that enjoyed the romance aspect of the game are not mad because they don't get pixel bootie and cyber ******, they are mad because a huge part of how we RP the character is because of the romantic options we choose!  If Bioware doesn't like the fact that we get attatched to the characters than stop making them so easy to become attatched to.

I am so damn sick and tired of every superior know-it-all that sounds off about how people only care about the romances because of the tent scenes Hello we only get the tent scene once!  It's done by the time Awakenings comes around.

We are mad because our PC's love their love interests and in the case o Zev or Leil these Love interests would not allow our wardens to ride into danger without being by their sides.  Its not about sex or titilation its about the story and the characters.  I don't want a new band of merry men I traveled for a year with MY MEN and I want them in my party  I want Zev and Leil at the very least  I love Oggy but My PC's love Zev on most playthrus and Leil on a couple.  They matter to our PC's and having to play 12-15 hours without them breaks MY heart.  So I think I too will buy this so called expansion used because I want to suppot a company that expands the universe by bringing back the characters I care about.

Its not about titilation its about the fact that the characters curl up in your heart, not in your penis or vagina.
