Starting a new game, wondering where I should go first. (Question about Zevran)

I'm guessing the cut-scene with Loghain, Howe, and Zevran will just cancel itself out? I'm also guessing that this is what Default wants to know too. It would be weird if it popped up while Zevran is already in the party.

I haven't done it yet (I just tested to make sure he would appear), but my guess is you'd have to through the actual cutscene.  I'm hoping someone comes up with a mod that changes where that cutscene appears.

Edit: I'll test it later, but for now I'm assuming that the cutscene appears at the normal time but that nothing messes up at having Zevran in your party.  I think that's what triggers your codex entry anyway.

My amazon # 2 is approaching Orzammar, so it'll be a while before I can start another game and test this out.

Or I could just start a game right now. In the name of research. Yeah.

Don't thank me yet! I will test it today or tomorrow. I'm curious if anything happens actually, it just doesn't seem anything would change. It may, though. Fortunately that dwarf I had to scrap, the one that was kissing Zevran's nose, has a Lothering save. So I'll do that and Redcliff soon.

I'm very curious too. I wonder if that means that a mod would not be hard to develop that would change things around (incl. the cut-scenes). I always let the commander live at Lothering, Leliana has a point, no need to fight more, the guy yields, after all. And my PC sends a message to Loghain with the soldier. So getting him early would not be improbable game-playing wise.

Gah! I wish I could get the toolset to work, so I at least could take a peek.

Good luck with your dwarf, hehe. I don't have any save that goes back that far.

Yes, the Loghain and Zevran meeting cutscene will play when you complete one of the main quests, and then travel. It will then either play when you reach your destination or if you hit another encounter (instead of playing the Ambush it will give you a different one, leaving the game paradox free).

Thank you again!  :wub: My stupid question . . . that's the cutscene playing twice? Or is there an actual different Zevran encounter?  Sorry if that is a dumb question :(

Edit: OOOOOH!  Gah, I think I know what this may be.  There's a couple of referencing in game to a second assassination attempt (before Taliesen I mean -- Alistair and Zevran both make comments at different places about two attempts).  Ok, now I have new motivation to test this out.  Redcliff at level 7, weeee!

Ok, after doing this, I have ONE problem. I'm sure it's a simple console command to fix, but . . . I go to the Zevran ambush area the second time, and I can't get OUT of it! Stupid tree that blocks you in the first time blocks you out the second time! *grin* Ok, I will read the entire console wiki on this!

No, you go back to the ambush area though.  In the initial encounter, the tree gets knocked over, blocking you in.  When you go back, the tree is there, blocking you out.  I'm hoping someone who's smarter than I am will say how to get out of there!  My guess is there's a console command that will teleport you.

I'd try
runscript zz_jump_around
to make sure you are at the right exit of the map ;)

If you still can't get out, you could try
runscript zz_camp_debug
or some tentative poking around at other debug commands like zz_dlc_debug or zz_shl_debug, and see if they give you the option to teleport someplace, for example Honnleath

This is what the wiki says:



runscript zz_jump_around - Teleports you to set teleport points on the current map. (E.G. Map transition points.)

Really stupid question that just occured to me... have you tried walking to the other end of the map and see if there is another exit there?

I don't think the PC can go around that tree if she/he pops up on the upper end. The exit would be behind the fallen tree, I think.

I did try that, Melkathi. Not a dumb question at all, though. What IS dumb is after I went through all that, I deleted that game before coming here and asking for a solution. Not out of frustration, but because I considered my testing done and that game was going to be deleted anyway. *grin* I bet the jump around thing works, though. My next game, I'll test again.
