i know without duping stuff from the junk folder to make money a lot of things were unobtainium, for me at least.
should we stock up on gold before awakening?
will gold be more plentiful?

I sort of wished that they removed ALL gold and items from chars except for those items equipped on Oghren and the Warden personally, as it would make for a better playthrough, instead ill be starting out with about 500g and a bag full of good gear. I just think its going to make the experience far too easy, especially if their are vendors selling items like vershaille and the spellward etc. All rare shop items were beyond rediculous.
You could always drop all your stuff on the ground before you finish the game.....

That would just be silly. Better to make it a game mechanic so that everyone loses their gold, rather than expecting people who don't want money from all of their companion's gear not to take the gear off and sell it.

50k, that's from Loghain's Assets.
On my Human Noble KING-CONSORT, I'm expecting no less than 100k in shiny Gold.
Without this the Story TOTALLY BREAKS, There's No Continuation from The Origins - No Buy.

And if that is the case I may have to call upon the Maker himself (who is in no way related to runscript whatsoever) begging for funds in the form of coppers.
"Please, Maker, I beg of you! Shower me with 2,000,000 copper!....Oh 200g? That works too! Thanks!"

I killed Dust town thugs for money,
I killed the slavery Tevinter mage for money,
I killed Zevran for money,
I killed the werewolves that turned into humans and won't give me any rewards - for money,
I killed other people I don't have to for money..
I even stole from Bhelen & beggars for money,
u know? we earned those.

I tell you now, Isolde PROMISED ME of "The Arl's Wealth and Riches." That's the ONLY REASON I saved Connor! I Still Remember that Very Moment when I told her "I'll hold you to that~."..
And What Did She Give ME?
A 50 SILVER Staff.. Isolde's voice: "it's the most valueable thing to me." MY A55!! I could sell a TABLE in that Castle for more money.
GOSH I'm STILL PISSED!!
MAN I Hope in one of these expansions we get to KILL whoever we want, no matter who they are. I tell you this, I won't forget this Isolde Moment Ever. IF I have a chance in the future? SHE DEAD. I'm Dropping her to The Ground.
I'll be Pointing my elf finger in her Orlesian face saying "I TOLD U NOT TO GO THERE. I TOLD U NOT TO GO THERE."

That wont be the case, thankfully. I understand the balancing, game design value of having characters start with no money or equipment in a sequel, but damned if that hasn't been played out enough times already.

how much gold do I need to buy every top of the line stuff?Ferret A Baudoin wrote...
Your money definitely does get imported. At high levels there's more currency in play - but if you have a solid amount of gold it can make a difference. You may be able to buy some of the merchant's top of the line gear earlier - and some of their wares are very yummy.

hey I think that's a little too much to ask man, they wont tell us that. the most expensive stuff in Dragon Age: Origins costs 150g I think? so obviously the best buyable item in The Awakening would well you know what, I dono man. I don't kow.Abyss_666 wrote...

I was gonna tell you about how merchant items price increase by some fixed percentage once it's tier change but that won't be the case coz the one he's talking about will be Unique.
Just.. um... ok.. it must be an obtainable amount, so I would suggest you to make as much money as a cheap Dwarf Noble can make, I think that number would be 3,000g prior to The Awakening. still need someone to confirm this though. I've never played a dwarf.

Actually, even I can answer that question:
0gp. The best stuff is found, not bought.
I dont buy stuff by the way, 1,000g prior to the Landsmeet. no programs, no mods, just 2 official DLCs. on an elf, not a dwarf.

Wow @Fycan, you're rich dude. I can never scrape that much money.
In any case, I think I'll stock up before Awakenings so that I can buy the good stuff early.
