I know, I meant disagreeing with another poster it being a guy game.DaeJi wrote...
I said that it was male slanted, not that it was a "guy game."
The Geth aren't robots. They are a synthetic race. I also factored in Wrex and Liara into my equation. With Kasumi, it's five humans, six aliens, one robot. Aliens outnumber human by one, and even then if you break up by species you get five humans and one of everything else.

You also need to look at who is buying and playing the games. Now I know there are girl gamers out there, but what % of the sales are girls? I could look it up I suppose, but my guess is that it is overwhelmingly guys that by the game.

Really? Because it really shows. I'd like a human guy who knows how to relax! Playful flirting! These are good things.Collider wrote...

Well, uh... there's Garrus... not exactly a human, but when did non-important details matter?
Other than the whole "bodily fluids can kill you" thing.
Hmmm...

Though other research did show woman gamers tend to gravitite to certain games, the list of games they prefer is suprisingly high and diverse, and would suprise many male players (basically, no they did not all play PopCap games). Either case, a game like ME does fall on the prefered list easily.

I'm a girl who plays mostly male oriented games, like Halo, Gears, Bioshock, CoD, Ninja Gaiden, etc. And the ones that skirt the middle like Mass Effect and Fable. I do love Tomb Raider but I don't play MMOs or RTS or Sims though...I'd totally play God of War if I had a PS3...
but I don't think this issue is about pleasing girls for the sake of pleasing them. Like I said, the game lets you play as a female so you should get just as many opportunities as the male character gets, despite whether or not the player themselves is a female...

Garrus is sweet and all, but the constant chance of death is a great mood-killer. But I guess that's a valid point. I'd just like a leading male that wasn't so.. safe and cautious, I suppose.DaeJi wrote...

If I taped down the "attack" button when playing God of War I can beat that game. Not exactly a complicated game
Anyway, girls do enjoy a lot of same activities as guys. And many guys do actually enjoy the same activities as girls, but will not admit to it.
Except for me of course!

Ashley - Gunnery Officer Blandy
Miranda - Intense loyalist, runaway, criminal
Jack - psychotic, conflicted, powerful, criminal
And for the guys?
Kaidan - Lieutennant Blandy
Jacob - Blandy 2: Blandy Harder
Jenkins - Dead before he can even reveal a tragic backstory.

No, but I'm just no good at the "fight eleventy-billion enemies" type games where you cut through all of them like butter then the boss actually makes you pay attention and kills you.
Plus they give me a headache.

Yeah, we gamers are a diverse lot. We're just different. Not crazy, and I'll kill anyone who says otherwise.

Exactly - the human males are utterly bland and forgettable... I'm with the OP on this one. There needs to be at least one more male human squad member with a distinctive personality in the way that Miranda and Jack are distinctive, preferably one who, as a LI, isn't so damn nice to FemShepKalosCast wrote...

I mean I like the alien male LIs and all (I think Garrus has the most interesting personality of all them), but the idea that my poor FemShep isn't physically... compatible with them hurts the roleplaying for me. I'd like for there to be at least one human male LI that FemShep can physically be with (without her being in danger of dying, or getting painful rashes and having hallucinations

You seem to be counting your Shepard here, don't do that, it skews the results...Soma Holiday wrote...
I play as a femshep so there will be a total of 4 female humans on my squad once Kasumi enters the picture, which has me a little annoyed.
Even just looking at love interests it comes out roughly equal: Male Shepards get 3 human love interests to 2 alien, female Shepards get 2 human to 3 alien.

Yes! I like the alien LI's too - it's just... some of my femSheps would like to have children someday. Ones that she can actually watch grow up, and live to see her grandchildren. And right now, the only LI's that can provide that are Kaidan and.... Jacob.
And while I really like Kaidan, with all the interesting human LI's that maleShep has... I'd just like another option for poor femShep.
