You want to know why all the romances for women are not as good as for men?
Actually, I LOVE the romance options this time around.
Well then, everything's good then...carry on soldier.

If I taped down the "attack" button when playing God of War I can beat that game. Not exactly a complicated game
No, but I'm just no good at the "fight eleventy-billion enemies" type games where you cut through all of them like butter then the boss actually makes you pay attention and kills you.
Plus they give me a headache.
Well what is ironic, I think the 2/10 ratio is still grossly underestimating them. I even have personal experience and not just sociologist writing about it in journals.sedrikhcain wrote...
Then perhaps they are intentionally hiding their numbers. I know there are many female gamers and I know their numbers are growing, but considering the extent to which video games have long had appeal to mass audiences among men, I have a hard time believing we're up to 4 out of every 10 gamers being women -- particularly if we exclude singstar, participation games on Wii, etc, which would make sense for this discussion. I just don't see evidence of it in game shops and when I look and see who's playing video games. It seems like it's more like 2 out of 10, and if you limit it to shooters and shooter/rpg hybrids, it appears to be lower than that.
I should say though, I have no science behind this, just what my eyes see. That's why I'm going to contact the publishers of that study for their methodology. If I hear back from them, I'll post results.

You want to know why all the romances for women are not as good as for men? Because most games are made by men, who obviously see things from a male perspective. If the women here don't like it then they should enter game development themselves so that the games industry actually has access to a wider breadth of talent other than young white males who will, surprisingly, write things from a young white male perspective.
Until then, it will be men writing it all, so get out there and do it women, your gender needs you!
