Okay, so Reapers have names. Sovereign's real name was Nazara. I'm not sure if Harbinger's real name is Harbinger, though I suspect it isn't.

What was the human reaper going to be called?

Rofl, that's the exact opposite of what Legion tells you. Legion tells you Sovereign was the name Saren and his heretic geth gave Nazara.

Nazara was the name the programs in Sovereign identified themselves as.

been a long time since i listened to legions dialogue. He is always the last squad member you get, after all (unless you enjoy having your normandy crew liquified).

Other way around, at least regarding Sovereign. Legion says that the AIs within Sovereign called themselves Nazara, and "Sovereign" was the name given to it by Saren.

As for Harbinger, it's unknown if that's it's real name. It's probably an honouriffic, since a harbinger is what he literally is.

Nope, Nazara is the name that Sovereign used when he approached the Geth. Sovereign is the name that Saren gave to him. And Harbinger may very well be a reference to strike fear in humanity...

My guess: the Protheans called him Harbinger before their brains were totally smushed, and he liked it enough for it to stick, sorta like with Saren and Sovereign.

You know I'm torn when it comes to the human-Reaper. On the one hand it looks like I'm in some Terminator theme park ride, not in an epic battle for my life.

On the other, the sounds it makes are really, really visceral, creepy and cool, that gutteral machine buzz it makes. Almost makes up for the unimaginative look.
