My pet theory is that Reapers name themselves for the species they are made of, so the human Reaper would think of itself as "Human"...though I doubt they consider names to be anything more than unique identifiers to other Reapers (sort of like a MAC address), as Nazara not only didn't mind Saren renaming it to "Sovereign", but apparently never bothered to tell him its true name.
