Many of the textures already look terrible at 1680x1050. I can't imagine how noticeable this would be at the huge resolutions of a dual or tri-monitor setup! I think that BioWare should first work on adding some higher resolution textures and then add in multi-monitor support (so that these users won't be disappointed by the image quality).

I noticed that too, at first it was how I had the mipmap detail level set in Catalyst Control Panel, when I upped it to max quality I noticed a big difference.

If it maintains that quality of image over a triple monitor setup I will be thoroughly impressed.

Until then, however.

Incredibly disappointing that support for Eyefinity is still missing.. Was the article on PCGH a lie? Can't bioware say something on this? Anything?

I use a Matrox Triple Head and 3 screens and though there is a fix for the game engine the menus, cut scenes and Galaxy Map are still too zoomed, I know Bioware fixed Dragon Age for Eyefinity and Triple Head users and I thank them for that as it is an epic game so please fix Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect if at all possible, I am a big Bioware fan and would like to remain so always :-)

it may not be them remember DA:O used Biowares' own engine and ME1 ans 2 are Unreal 3 engine you may need to see if Epic has support for it.

We have seen many games that run the Unreal 3 engine be Hor+. One of these games is Batman AA, which is flawless for eyefinity and TH2G.

I'm guessing the patch has been dropped in favor of a $10 dollar Kasumi DLC.

I own both Dragon Age and ME2. Both look horrible at my triplehead-setup 3840x1024 resolution. Even though Dragon Age has been patched, at resolutions beyond 3000-something width, all trees disappear and you look at bare landscape textures. I believe it's a view distance bug that has been reported several times without ever being confirmed by Bioware. As a workaround, I am running it in a 3000x1000 *window*, which appears to be the largest resolution at which you still get trees.

ME2 may be even more limited with it's ancient Unreal 3 engine. The game is more or less unplayable at resolutions this high. They could at least confirm the issue or deliver a statement concering this. so that we know what is possible with this engine and when they're gonna do it. I really wish they had abandoned the unreal 3 engine for ME2 :-(

11 days since this thread has been created and STILL no response. Does any rep what-so-ever look at these forums at all? I am so very disappointed.

I would also like a response to DA:O but that is not top priority.

I don't know, there's other UE3 engine games that work beautifully with these resolutions.. Bioshock and Batman: AA for sure.  Borderlands is fine you just have to change the FoV with a keybind.

But.. almost 2 weeks since this thread started and a month and a half since it was first brought up and no word.. this is getting frustrating now.

Come on BioWare, show us some love.

Please keep bumping until we get a patch.  I don't want to miss this game.

Hey,

While ATI's EyeFinity product is really cool, BioWare did not commit to supporting it on Mass Effect 2.

The link to the PC Games Hardware article posted by boredtotears001 does not quote a specific ATI or BioWare rep, so I can't really comment on it. The link to the image posted by noquarter7 is a list of *potential* titles and developers from an ATI slide presentation, not an actual list of supported titles. See the ATI rep's comments in this thread:

That being said, we did investigate the possibility of adding this support in a patch. Unfortunately, what we found indicates that it would not be a quick or simple change. Therefore, we can’t add EyeFinity support to Mass Effect 2 at this time. Should that change in the future, we will let you know.

Thanks!
