How the - hell - will - we defeat the Reaper fleet?

Step 2- tow Citadel into a star
Step 3- open conduit

We should force them to all watch an episode of "Will and Grace" that way they will just kill themselves.
I like your thinking, or an episode of The View would work, or a Michael Moore film. Then the reapers will realize they have returned too soon and there are not enough sentient organic lifeforms in the galaxy yet worthy enough to exterminate.

(a little bit) More seriously, we lure them to a sector of space and cause several stars to explode with Dark Energy.

The only way to defeat a fleet of Reapers is with another fleet of Reapers. Logically, the organics will have to find a way to turn the Reapers against themselves.
Second option: Find a way to keep them trapped in dark space or to otherwise prevent them from getting to you.
Anything else will be deus ex machina. No last minute superweapons please.
Somehow link a mass relay to the center of a collapsing star and trick them into jumping into it unknowingly? They can exist through the Omega IV relay only because they are aware of the danger and put up energy fields to keep from being crushed/torn apart, right?

I see it happening two ways:
For Paragons, it's a massive cross-species coalition: The geth and quarians have a joint fleet (I'm assuming a paragon can have them kiss-and-make-up) in combination with the turians and humans, with the Destiny Ascension as the flagship. The krogans (hopefully lead by Wrex), cured from the genophage thanks to Mordin saving Maelon's work, lead the ground forces along with the rachni (imagine krogans riding rachni into battle, that would be sweet), as well as turian, human, and geth troops. A massive, all out war ensues, and only be the co-operation of all the species do we prevail.
Big bowl of stupid right there. You would actually want to cure the genophage? It wouldn't matter if the Reapers were defeated, the Krogan would soon either conquer the galaxy and kill everyone, or be killed while trying. Krogan wage war. It's in their blood, the genophage is for a reason.
Agreed. That's would be like the people on "Lost" putting Hurly in charge of food supplies.
Big deal. They've already recalibrated the genophage how many times now? Once it's over Mordin or some other salarians can just do it all over again.

It actually sounds like a good idea but I still don't see how Bioware will handle it in ONE game .
Seems a bit rushed to me if they magically find a new technology to manipulate the relay in order to trap the Reapers .
I wish Bioware would do 4 games instead of 3 ... but it has already been planned as a trilogy right ?

And Shepard will go in and blow the **** out of the biggest reaper, I suppose, which will do something magical elsewhere.

yup its hard to think any thing difrent.
like setting the galaxy up and have them prepare for another millenia before they are there.

You mean "get loud and spill some drinks on the Citadel"? I wasn't sure if that actually means getting drunk as well.

My theory is making suns go supernova with dark energy.
Create "honey trap" worlds for Reapers, sacrificing millions of people as they gather to bombard them from orbit, but wiping them out by destroying the suns themselves by suicide teams. For the ultimate sacrifice, make Sol one of the possible "trap" systems, with Shepard leading that team. As to how the Reapers would be lured to those systems? Can't guess... But the theme for ME3 will be sacrifice in the name of the ultimate victory. You'll see.

I don't see us fighting an army of Reapers since half our people dying fighting just one.

As to Quarians and Geth co-existing, they do not have to do so on the same planets: Geth don't breathe, they don't need to eat or drink. In short, they don't even require the same planets organics do. They can visit and trade, but that's really up to them. They have no need for organics and theyr're not competing with them either... no wonder the Geth remained behind the Veil for so long!
So much for the Citadel war-mongerers who thought the Geth were preparing an invasion... I bet they're feeling rather insulted for being considered unimportant by the Geth!

and just because the Thanix weapon worked well against a Collector ship in no way means it'll be as affective against Reapers.

Shep and crew are along for each step or Shep assigns his friends as key players for each step of the journey.
They can also develop mass effect weapons that deal planet size devastation which could also mess up a reaper fleet.
