I'm getting tired and I need to get to bed soon,

But I just thought up something. If your Shepard could be more like you, what are some things s/he would do? What are some things you would see in his/her quarters that would make them more like yourself? Regardless of psych profile, would s/he still have family s/he keeps in regular contact with?

How tall have you always imagined your Shepard? Does he look like you? An older you perhaps?

I always imagined my Shepard just a tad over six feet tall, maybe six-foot two inches at max. My Shepard looks like an older me, just with blue eyes instead of my green. My best friend gave his Shepard green eyes, so we kinda decided to trade off eye color for the fun of it. :)

Also, I decided to tack in my bushy eyebrows and such. The only main difference is the nose, and that's only a slight difference.

All in all, my Shepard looks pretty much what I think I'm gonna look like when I'm older.

Just a small thing I was thinking of. And to summarize, what would make your Shepard so much more like yourself?

For me, I wouldn't change a lot of things. Most of my friends say my personality is very similar to Shepard's.

Save for my temper, but... That's another story.

Mannerisms are pretty similar too.

One thing that'd be different with my Shepard though instead of a drinker, he'd be a cigar smoker. I have no really good photo to show him off, but will try to get some soon. :pinched:

He'd keep in regular contact with his family provided he can and would probably be the type to surf the extranet quite a bit in his spare time, read up on some psychology and history books, or just playing a game on his omni-tool or whatever.

Here's another thought. The issues we have now, homosexuals are dealing with not having right as their hetero counterparts. Like, for example in our very own Mass Effect; only women are granted to have a same-sex romance and even then, it's not much to talk about. I'm a firm supporter of same-sex marriage and such. [as I have quite a hefty amount of friends that are]

But onto my thought, we're dealing with same-sex issues here in 2010. In 2185, what is humanity's ain issue going to be aside from aliens and vice-versa of course. Will human skin tone still be an issue or will we finally unite as a species? Is Earth going to be united with one language? What are your thoughts on what's to come?

Thanks for reading my thoughts, it'd be much appreciated if you were to post some of your own! I'd definitely enjoy reading them. :D

I'm not Shepard, and Shepard is not me. Commander Shepard is a role I play tio get through the games of Mass Effect, just as Lara Croft is my role in Tomb Raider or Gordon Freeman in Half-Life. Therefore I don't really think its necessary for Shepard to share any of my traits, and he wouldn't need them either: I'm lazy, I have glasses and I'm a computer geek... Shepard is on the other side of the scale, plays in higher division, is of another breed.. You get the picture.

There are however traits we both share, like gender (male), race (white) and sexuality (straight), which makes it easier for me to immerse in the role - hey, I'm no actor, so I'm not sure I could play convincingly a female black lesbian (convincingly for me, which is the only part of the audience that matter). If there was such a game however I would still do my best to play that part.

Regarding all these progressive thoughts of yours with same-sex marriage and whatnot, I'm certain they will be more widely accepted in the future,, there is most likely no other way, and its simply logical. And when it becomes common, maybe we can get rid of those silly gay pride festivals...

But just because of this, I would LOVE to play in a gaming world where progressiveness is not an option: hompsexuality is a sin, swearing is a sin, not going to church on Sundays a crime which you can be put to death for, bigottery and racism is commonplace and and a natural part of the state of mind... Just because it is so tiresome to play in worlds where you always have the option of being this openminded guy... *

* This comming from someone who plays the hero/paragon way, is a liberal in almost every sense, is not a racist or homophobe and is an atheist to boot...
