Nothing against either, I'll probably be doing some fan art of my own.  But the sticky by Priestly at the top of the page says this is the forum for discussing character builds and mechanics.  The Blurb at the top of the page, however, says to post art and fiction here as well.  That doesnt seem to make any sense...the two concepts are not logical pairings.

Wouldn't it make more sense to keep the fanart/fic in the campaign forum which is dedicated to the "fluffier" aspects of the game, where people are *already* posting it in association with the various favorite character threads, and leave this board for the more technical discussion of builds, gameplay and game mechanics?

I agree, backstory and lore related stuff about characters should go in the campaign forum.  This board is losing its identity a little bit. We need a forum dedicated solely to gameplay and classes.  I think there is probably a better place for fan fic and stuff like that.

Probably because the campaign forum is virtually unusable for anything other than "zomg dis character iz my favourite I luv dem SO much and wan' dem 2 B in da next game so so so much and if dey aren't nerd rage will destroy u all."



But seriously I think both this forum and the campaign forum need to be moderated until they are what they say they are and create a separate forum for all the fan art/fic/rants/blather/luv/etc.... for this character or that character.

I associate "characters" with, ah, characters. Not classes. So there are no character builds, only class builds. Therefore, anything relating to characters of Mass Effect I put in here. If that is art or fiction, so be it.



And shouldn't this very thread be in the general discussion? lol

But, theres already a forum where everyone talkes about the non gameplay aspects of characters. Why do we need two?

Or are you saying, you want all the "I Love Tali" and "I love Garrus threads moved here too, until theyre choking off any meaningful gameplay discussion?

The divisions as they are now are both vague, and labelled differently in different locations.  It would make much more sense to have a dedicated Campaign/Lore/Character forum, and a class/Gameplay forum (like this board was functioning  as until recently, it seems.

And the above poster's suggestion is a good one...people interested in looking at fan art or reading fan fic, would probably enjoy having a forum specifically for that, to see it all gathered in one place, rather than having to hunt and peck for it.

No, for the love of God, no! I think there should be no bloody I love Tali/Garrus/Ashley/Jacob/Miranda/Captain Anderson/HK-47 threads at all!!! I'm sick of them...

But seriously, you're right: These forums are all over the place. The titles and subjects are all mixed up.

I gotta agree here. I don't see how a build and gamplay forum meshes with a lore/fanfic forum in any way.

Yeah, it seems a little out of control today.  Hell, I'm not even talking about the Fanfic/Fanart stuff...  just the random general spam.
