Dragon's Age crashes often on my PS3. Its the only game we're playing on the box now, so I can't tell if its hardware or software. I'm getting the vibe that Dragon's Age PS3 is in pretty poor shape.
Is this a common Dragon's Age problem, or is my PS3 going south??
Thanks

I have had no trouble with my Dragons Age on the PS3 nor my brother.

I get some crashes too.
My theory is that Dragon Age has some sort of memory leak somewhere... as the longer I play the longer the delay between a body coming up as dead and my ability to loot it.
For me the combination seems to be that I have played for a little while (say 3 hours) and am in a particularly taxing area... if I'm going to crash, that's where/when it would happen.
Fortunately, the auto-saves are pretty frequent so I've never lost a ton of gameplay.
It is unsettling though.
But, we're supposed to be getting a patch this Thursday.
Here's to hoping it improves things a little bit.

interesting. i have gone through 2 entire play throughs of this game and not once has it frozen or crashed on me.
you can try deleting the game data (note: this is not the same as your save data, so you will not lose any progress) and reinstall. that might fix whatever's causing it to crash.

This is one game I've got that has never crashed on me. As ziggurcat says, delete the game data. it may have been corrupted somehow. A clean install might solve the issue.

Might be worth a try.
If I do that, would I have to download dlc again?

i don't believe you have to re-download DLC. however, i am not entirely certain of that.

I've had 1 crash & 2 glitches so far (in 10 playthroughs) 1 total crash (I just reloaded & had no probs) the other glitches were: 1, in wardens Keep when you fight Avernus after sealing the veil, skely's appear in the room you just came from but the door shuts so you can't get to them.(just reloaded again) 2, in Eamons estate I had a servant on the ceiling lol

just some quick info, if you uninstall and reinstall DAO you have to re download all the DLC that you have purchased and all of your special abilities will be relocked and youll have to get them unlocked again (blood mage, bard, duelist, ect)

Ok, is your system overheating? If it's stuck in a cabinet or soemthing that might be it.

My PS3 has crashed about 7 times since I've been playing Dragon Age, in what? 3 years I've had it? I also play other games on it and it doesn't crash at all, so I'm starting to think it's definitely something to do with the game, and something that really should be fixed. So annyoing to finally be killing someone and then it crashes, gotta run over and reset it
sad times
Oh and no, it's not overheating!

Its not the game, its sonys inability to make a patch that is compatible with all games.

So there's pretty much no way to fix it. I've been playing it since 10:30, so 1.5hrs tonight, and this is the 4th time it's crashed.

Iv had this game for 2 days and iv already had 5 crashes...starting to regret this purchase.
My ps3 is old, but i havnt had any other games crash on me.
Iv frozen in combat, just walking around, in my inventory...
No DLC yet, ps3 is extremely well ventilated...
Hope this gets fixed soon, i was so excited to get the game and now its getting so frustrating im already considering reselling it, and i never resell games.
