Hm. Shiala is an asari, fitting the original lore for being an LI.
Also a potential squadmember as she has the skills.
Although I'm not too tempted, I...

It is an easy leap isn’t it.
The elements are already there to make Shiala a useful and compelling squad-member and love interest.

Wow! This is an incredible piece of fanart, possibly the best I've ever seen related to ME. The artist made Green Shiala look even prettier than Blue/Purple Shiala, or maybe that's what Green Shiala looks like with makeup on :D Now that I think about it, the facial markings on Green Shiala aren't as apparent , which has made her seem alot less like herself. And also the eyes were less radiant (and the artist really brought them out here). I couldn't even recognize her the first time I saw her in ME2.

I support adding her as a casual LI... I liked the flirtation she had with Shep on Illium (much like Gianni Parisini). I guess they could make her kinda like they made Kelly's casual love interest.

I support her. I hoped she's cured (and purple again Image IPB) in ME3. And I hope there's something more for her in ME3.
Although she didn't 'hit' on my femshep while she did on my male.. Image IPB

Odd... she hit on my femShep.  Too bad Gianni didn't... maybe she will in ME3....

Yeah, it probably had something to do with the things I said or how I completed the mission.

I'd rather not have Shiala as a casual, Kelly-like, fling.  I look at Shiala as a very possible serious love interest.  I think it would be a lost opportunity to make her a casual thing.

Me too. There is too much potential in her character to waste her as some kind of liaison for Shepard. From her dialogue in ME1 and ME2 I regard her as highly intelligent, warm hearted and since having  the Cipher and Thorian experience plus obviously  commando training  and powerful biotics she has great value as an expert squadmember (and as an science subject to Cerberus, so Shepard should better keep an protective eye on her)

What is meant by a casual romance, and why wouldn’t you want to give Kelly and Shiala a full romance designation.

Agreed. I don't think Shiala would consider romance of any kind 'casual', it's just not who she is. She is a very serious, responsible, and committed person, which is part of the reason why I love her so much./uploads_user/1070000/1069890/32093.gif

+1 for Shiala please.

She was my favourite in ME. It'd rock to have an Asari Commando in the squad :)

Yeah, it will be interesting to have Shiala on board.

Come to think of it, perhaps using the story of her contact with the Thorian and the Protheans could be used to help discover a weakness of the Reapers. It was old enough to know about them and able to hide away from the Reapers.

If we need to solve the issue of the Reaper’s indoctrination it may be Shiala who holds the key.

That sounds interesting especially if Liara's part of your crew in ME3.  She was the resident prothean expert and now she has competition because Shiala might have more knowledge on the protheans due to the thorian.  Then there's the two years away from Shepard and the way she changed.  If Bioware doesn't just disavow how different Liara is in ME2 we could have a nice rivalry here, maybe.

I wonder if there's a chance Shiala would clash with any of the squadmates in ME3, e.g. Liara???

Yeah, you kind of get the sense while Liara is going on about "a knowledge of the Prothean language must have been -transferred- into your mind" that she's really thinking "you lucky swine".

You know, I would like to see her bring out her aggressive side. Shiala's scary when she's angry.

Shepard was supposed to be dead as well, remember. The condemned live longer. :);)
Shiala is quite very alive in my game.

You're right. That fierceful look the second clone had in ME1 was quite...scary (but sexy as well) ;)

I agree that Shiala would have the greatest likelihood of clashing with Liara. Shiala was a disciple of Matriarch Benezia (for nearly two centuries *) and Liara (age 106 during time of ME) might resent that fact. I don’t believe for a minute that Shiala is Liara’s father, but she might know.

Shiala’s relationship with Benezia is just another example of the depth that she would add if included in ME3.
