I wonder if there's a chance Shiala would clash with any of the squadmates in ME3, e.g. Liara???

I agree that Shiala would have the greatest likelihood of clashing with Liara. Shiala was a disciple of Matriarch Benezia (for nearly two centuries *) and Liara (age 106 during time of ME) might resent that fact. I don’t believe for a minute that Shiala is Liara’s father, but she might know.

Shiala’s relationship with Benezia is just another example of the depth that she would add if included in ME3.

I had no idea Shiala was connected to Benezia for so long.  Makes me wonder why Liara said nothing on Feros or if she felt she shouldn't say anything at all especially knowing what the melding does and her attraction to Shepard.

How ironic, I was just thinking, for the first time today, how awesome it would be if Shiala were made an LI in ME3, and then I find this group! I completely support making Shiala an LI, and if BioWare does it, I'll make a brand-new playthrough in honor of that where I romance only her. Squadmember, I never thought of that, but unless Zhu's Hope not only gets back on its feet but starts sprinting, I doubt she'll leave it. Still, a commando would be fun, and I love the idea of her and Liara getting into a bit of a rivalry.

i like her, but shes a char that can die, so it wouldent make sense for all that effort in coding and building, just to have a char that is an "if you done this in ME 1, shes yours to have in a party"

Just because a character can die doesn't mean it's a useless effort.  I think Bioware would like to prove that considering how many characters from your squad can die especially Miranda.

^ And if we're talking ME1 characters, don't forget that Wrex can die, as can Ashley and Kaidan.. and yet both humans are practically gauranteed to be in ME3! That gives me some measure of hope for Shiala. Also, having Shiala is a squadmate could be a reward for keeping her alive, and not having access to her is the punishment for those who killed her in what I see as a merciless and unkind fashion.

Possibly if she is executed in ME1 then she gets replaced by someone else in ME3, e.g. Aria.

Especially since she gets so testy about Sha'ira saying Consorty things, yet has no reaction to Shiala sharing an intimate experience with Shepard other than "Are you alright, Shepard? You look pale." Doesn't jive, I blame writer's oversight.

Players who killed the original could get a clone.Somehow captured by exo geni for research. People who rescue her could get the purple version with some different dialog.

Exactly my thinking as well, just the option to kill her in part one should not limit the possibility for her to appear in part three - with various attitudes towards Shepard depending on his previous behaviour - clone or original.

I think it should just be a consequence of an action that you have taken. I can’t see how it can be unfair if the player is the one making the decision. Is it unfair to have the help of the Rachni after saving the queen (another decision in ME1)? These are not immutable choices you are making; you always have the option of replaying the decisions that you have made. If you want the choices that you make to be meaningful their must be associated consequences with those choices.

I'll be frank, her talk about intertwining minds might have produced an odd look of skepticism from Shepard, but I was turned on like few things have been :P

Shiala's one if not my favorite asari. Between her, Aria and Samara, I can't decide, which is weird cuz Samara's an actual squadmate with more dialogue. I guess I liked her story, and especially her voice actress.

I don't believe she'll be a squaddie or LI one bit, but moar of anything would be quite grand. Something similar to the consort where you do a mission and get a steamy hand-on-glass scene:P ...taking all of 10 minutes of gameplay. I know, she deserves more, but I'm thinking realistically.

She obviously has the hots for Shepard, and she's all nervous even though she's centuries old :D

I will bump for further support. In ME2 during our encounter, I was thinking: "cool, I get to keep her this time." :)

The way she surrendered, accepting her fate on her knees and hands behind her, even knowing that it wasn't her fault - not even at the slightest... Well I doubt I would ever be able to pull the trigger on such a person in RL. Watching the renegade scene was too brutal for me. I reloaded that time, and never killed her ever again.

Image IPB

I couldn't handle it either, had to reload my save. It's perhaps the worst renegade decision in ME1. I tried playing 100% renegade in order to get the achievement, and could not do it. I could destroy the Rachni queen no problem, but this was heart-wrenching, especially right after she said she wanted to help the Feros people for playing a role in their suffering.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this thread isn't about "Put Shiala in ME3 even if she's dead".

If we speak generally, I suppose all the ME2 squaddies won't return in ME3 either, "since they're dead". Having just Ashley/Kaiden and Liara would be pretty lame, indeed.

Between Liara and Samara, there's no room for Shiala as a squaddie, as much as a vanguard asari would kick ass.

*clears throat innocently* I'm sorry, did you say Samara? Nope, no Samara here!

Edit: Besides, if Liara's biotic growth spurt continues into ME3 she'll probably be more powerful than all the asari we've ever seen in game put together, so there ought to be room enough for an asari vanguard.;)

The Shiala kind and determined personality as well as her strikingly svelte appearance (as clearly demonstrated by the photos provided by Goat_Shepard) are why she seems so popular with many players.

That and the fact that Shiala has more tying her to the coming events in ME3 then most the squad members in ME & ME2; make me hopeful that Shiala will be included as squadmate and love interest.

Wow, there are really some cool pics of our sweetest "Cipher-bearer".  But Shiala has so much more to offer than just her looks. Aside from the cipher and the memories of an entire planetary prothean  population she keeps to be the only known person who overcame the indoctrination as  well as the Thorian influence. Someone already wondered why Cerberus didn't just got their fangs on her for study purposes - would be an excellent introduction for her in ME3, Ithink. :D

Especially if you blew up the base.

It'd be awesome to see what we can do with her.

I support this wholeheartedly. I find her pretty interesting. The fact that she is dead for some is completely irrelevant-- Liara is the ONLY previous squadmate who cannot have died, but I guarantee that a lot of them will be returning. I support Shiala.

Shiala has an interesting and relevant back story to her. The manner in which Shiala had to suffered and endured may lead to some interesting surprises for our Shepard in ME3.  I can’t get out of my mind the many symptoms of Shiala’s exposure to the Thorian (very different from the other colonists). I wonder if it is a sign of things to come.
