I just wondered about the Shadowbroker video footage and our all favorite green asari. If there would come further footage about her as well what would you folks like to have?

Old videos from her time as a commando?

Some vids together with Saren and Benezia?

One from her time as a diciple before Saren showd up?

Or a more recent moment of biotic instability?

Be creative! Maybe a Biowarian looking for a good idea is reading even our humble thread, you never know! ;)

All of the above?

I'd like to have the meld happen again in ME3 and we get to experience the connection between an Asari and her significant other/friend.  Probably would have been better to have brought that up earlier this year.  A bit of a tangent, but related to topic: Please Bioware, don't rule out friendships even especially in cases where people can be romantically linked.

It would be corny to have it be a mission, but I'd love to have some kind of video montage(sp?) where we (as Shepard) would see all of Shiala as she would see us.  I'd like to hear what her thought processes were for joining Benezia in following Saren and how it happened.  I want to see snippets of her commando training.  I want to see her innermost desires and some of her flaws.  I don't know if the time is available to address parts where she (viewing Shepard's history) would have insight to our insights, desires and flaws.  You know, allowing us to relive moments in each Shepard's life: Colonist, Spacer, Earthborn and how we became War Heroes, Sole Survivors, or Ruthless bastages, and possibly having that influence her in some way (awesome way to use renegade/paragon and actually have it mean something).

Hope this is coherent.  When I start making lists I need to get them out fast otherwise I'll come up with some beautifully worded stuff and when I sit down to type/write it out...nothing.

All of this. But I would like more to visit Feros personally in third part and see what's going there. I hope Bioware will find time to do it.

Sounds good of course, but even major characters don't have such level of development...

He asked and I answered. =)

I would like this level of development for everyone, but Shiala is special.  She's the only npc who is pivotal to your quest that doesn' t get as much exposition as the main cast.  I see the possibility for much more than we're likely to get from the next installment.  I don't think a "Mass Effect Galaxy" type expansion will do her justice either.  If I start listing her qualities I'll sound like a fool boy with a high school crush.

Too late. :pinched:

Then I think most of us Shiala-wanna-be-soulmates (or at least me:whistle:) can feel this foolish. :o
But you're absolutely right. Since ME1 I allways wondered why Bioware created such a deep and potential character without using the potential she has. I wonder if Shiala has some fans among the devs as well who took a stand for her and her appearence in ME2.
But during the LOTSB I stumbled when Liara told about the Broker's interest in the protheans. Maybe the cipher holds more information than only understanding Shep's visions. I don't know which of her aspects has the biggest probability to be used plotwise in ME3 or any upcoming DLC.

More than likely they'll touch on the possibility of the Thorian making its return.  We still don't know how we're going to defeat the Reapers and the Thorian will/may hold the key as to what Prothean tech existed that can be researched and expanded on to stop them.

Why I say this is I think the Thorian functions like the Rachni so the present incarnation will have information that its predecessor had without having been around during that time.  That in addition to Shiala's pigment change and biotics not working properly are central to Asari.  You can't have a core shift in an individual and leave them to rot or get tossed about in the wind.

I just hope the fate of Shiala isn't a grim one. I somehow sense a great tragicness in her, but I could imagine that you could either try to save/cure her and abandon the option of a thorian support against the reaper or you could push the transformation (or however you call it) and have a tool against the indoctrination. I guess Shiala herself would gladly sacrifice herself for the greater good but I wonder what would be the paragon option - to save her because it's an unethical choice or to let the it happen because her sacrifice could save billions of lives.

I'll just stop by to lend my support for Shiala as a squadmate/LI in ME3. Her voice actress did a great job and her cameo in ME2 ends with her just about asking Shepard out for a date. Plus she's an asari Commando, who are, according to the turians, the finest warriors in the galaxy. Even if her biotics are on the fritz, she's got to have a ton of combat experience and be a pretty vicious fighter. I think she'd be a perfect addition to the squad.

Just because she could theoretically be dead for some players' savegames shouldn't disqualify her.  Every squadmate you have from the first game, except Liara, could theoretically be dead.  Every squadmate from the second game, without exception, could theoretically be dead.  BioWare will still need to write parts for the ones who will be playing a role in the third game.  Shiala is no different than all of them.

The level of hype developing here...Bioware will never do Shiala justice.  At least not the way I imagine things going down.

It occurs to me that *if* the thorian is coming back in ME3, there is a way that one can kill Shila in ME1, and she can still be brought back. The thorian has already been shown to be able to clone people when given raw material. It is possible that the thorian could regrow/repair Shiala, and she could be waiting for Shepard on Feros when he/she returns. This would make the potential LI conversations between them very... interesting.

Nicely done.  I remember noticing the eyes of the clone and noting how wild they looked.
