I think PC/360 fans needn't worry and maybe even PS3 potential players.

The way I see this is, just because they've cropped a 'choice' from the comic, doesn't mean all other things won't have a chance of appearing in ME3 just because it doesn't seem to be in the PS3 version.

Think of it this way, if that were the case, surely none of those choices would have mattered for the PC/360 version of ME2 (thus no sign of Gianna Parasini, Shiala, Rana, emails from various people etc.)

I look at the PS3 version as allowing the PS3 players to choose how to handle the more 'critical' parts of the story. The rest are treated just as the default shep deals with it (or just doesn't encounter it because default shep didn't do sidequests)

Now with regards Feros. I think people are reading too much into the article. The comic isn't going to be able to go into that much great deal about the Thorians because that would end up with a comic frame in which it is pretty much covered in text. What I do think possibly has happened is that the whole thing with the Colonists getting taken over has been taken out and possibly the skyway trip too and cut right to the end of that mission going in kicking thorian butt then have to choose whether to spare Shiala or not.

When I originally read that there were just 6 choices in the comic, I assumed they would be LI, Rachni, Wrex, VS, Council and Councillor, but Scyhozoa pointed out how the last choice is possibly made on the shuttle with Miranda and Jacob due to the save occuring before that choice is made (makes sense seeing as the conversation with TIM occurs after the auto-save too). The reason I hadn't thought that is because I am sure I had heard default shep got Udina so whenever I've been in that shuttle I've either chosen him if default or one of my sheps who chose him or chosen anderson if one of my imports chose him. I've never tried 'testing' the system so to speak.

So if that choice is made there and that has carried over to the PS3 version too. Then that leaves a choice open and if I was going to list any of the other choices, Shiala would be next in line. Though only just pipping Rana to the spot purely because of the potential of Shiala being more than just someone who runs off next time she is seen (even though I do have theory bout her return in ME3 as well).

This leaves us with 2 possibilities, the choice being there, could give stronger indication to her being a potential squadmate in 3 (she would tie in with my theory of Shep getting people Shep trusts and they trust Shep) and potential LI (ME2 of course dropping a hint there that she is interested) or the choice isn't there and whilst she might not appear in any PS3 playthroughs or default ME2/ME3 playthroughs (or ones where shep shot her) there is the potential for her to show up again for those that spared her on PC/360 and even maybe still potential for her to be an LI even if not squadmate (kelly chambers leading the potential example to follow in this situation).

I might be wrong and she just might never appear again other than maybe an email or worse nothing. But I'm going to keep the faith that Bioware aren't just going to drop stuff just because of the PS3 version and that is coming from someone who will be getting that version as well, but rather likes the idea of one of his PC/360 Sheps hooking up with Shiala... though if she thinks she is getting her hands again on my Liara Sheps, she got another thing coming... only 1 Asari is getting chance to embrace eternity with them again and their favourite colour is blue, not purple or green.

Keep the faith people :)

Thanks, Sir Ulrich, for this enthusiastic and well developed argument, it strengthens my hope (which was a little bit shaken after reading the article)

And I honor your faithfulness towards Liara, my main Shep kept being single waiting for this purple/green loveliness on two legs , but I have to admit that after the Shadowbroker Liara gained a lot of character depth making her much more interesting than before!

Hm, interesting. If they don't talk about the Thorian at all its unlikely that Shiala will make an appearance. If they somehow squeeze her in without one mention of the Thorian, people will be very confused when they do her mission on Illium.

I do hope I'm wrong though!

I have to admit I have been pondering about this for last few hours as it did strike me that might be the case. Looked at it from a the thorian is there but it just isn't mentioned what it is, but then that kind of makes the choice less of one, because the whole 'mind control' thing is the key to if you decide to let her live or not.

Just been having a look at her Wiki file again to get the whole thing in my mind (yay I embraced eternity :D ), ok this is how I can see them doing it without going too deep into the whole 'Thorian side of things'.

Thorian had the Prothean Cipher which of course was passed onto Shiala who passed it onto Saren who then left her there.

In comes, SuperShep to save the day, kills Thorian Shiala mentions about Saren wanting the Cipher from it and she got it and gave it Saren but he left her here.

Now one way to really push the choice on this would be to have Noveria done first. That way there is the whole 'you've been indoctrinated by Saren and Sovereign, she is doing her usual wanting to go help the colonists (default shep the colony didn't survive and the remaining ones went to earth but still got the whole issue on ilium) but understands if Shep thinks she needs to die.l

Basically put, it can bounce the whole mind control thing off and still have the choice due to indoctrination. The only thing that needs explaining about the Thorian is that it had the Cipher and that is why Saren had come to Feros.

That is my theory for how they can keep that all in place despite what that review said.

I am going to imagine that comic shep takes this route through the story.

Eden Prime, Citadel, Therum (Liara is in comic pic holding her mother), Noveria, Feros, Virmire, Citadel, Ilos, Citadel and somewhere between Virmire and Ilos to sort out the LI choice.

So yup, there is definitly a way for them to include Shiala without going too indepth into the thorian.

Good to know Godwood. I guess any hint of a romance prevents the kiss from happening (like starting the romance with Kaiden and leaving him on Virmire) or is it just male Shepard that gets it?

Shiala’s ties to the Shepard, the Protheans, and Reapers; coupled with the fact that she begun undergoing a transformation during ME2 continues to fuel by belief that she will be returning in ME3.

I must admit was disheartened when it was announced that she had not been included in the comic. However, Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien well thought out and well reasoned post about the necessity of such an omission has once again given me hope. Thanks.

Does she appear with a fully new shepard in ME2(not imported from ME1) with Biowares default decisions?. Cause if she does theres a good chance she'll appear in the PS3 version of the game even if they missed feros in the comic thingy. Then meaning this character should appear in ME3....i hope anyway.

Not that I know of.
I only read it on the wikia, I've never seen it for myself.

Don't think she kisses Shep. Just a flirty arm-touch and a line about "Maybe sometime when you're not busy... hubba hubba"

As far as I remember I tested it once and unfortunately she did not appear on Ilium, so my hopes for a Shiala on the PS3 are very small, but ME3 could be a whole different thing.

Hmmm thats not good at all. But theres always hope, truly i think this character and all other characters that have survived there encounter with Commander Shepard will make a return, cause that is what makes ME so great.

This is from Stanley Woo pertaining to the supposed kiss from Shiala:

The Mass Effect wiki is a fan-run and (presumably, if it works the same as any other wiki) articles are contributed by fans and can be edited by people at any time. I do not know what, if any editorial staff works on the wiki, or how or even if information is vetted before being posted.

The Mass Effect wiki, as far as I know, is not run by BioWare and the information posted therein has not been edited, proofread, or verified as 100% correct all the time by BioWare.

I can only speak anecdotally, but I can only remember the flirting response Shiala has after completing her plot. I don't recall her kissing Shepard on the cheek. doesn't mean it doesn't happen, just that I don't remember it. It's been over a year since i've even thought about that plot.

Ultimately, it's a minor issue that, based on the wording, easy enough for players to verify. So if you're really THAT gung-ho about it, why not play through ME1 saving Zhu's Hope and Shiala, then heading to Illium in ME2 while your Shepard is not in any romance. Someone's surely got a valid saved game to help out.

sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for the info, Spoonbender. I think the guy who wrote that part of the wiki article simply mistook Shiala for Miss Gianna Parasini.
