That's a good one...:)

Maybe we should try upload this into Playstation Network, so there would be at least one trace of Shiala in the PS3 version...;)

Posted Image  I love that!  It should definitely be uploaded.  Shiala needs to be exposed to those poor PS3 players who never got to see her.

And there is more Shiala to find on deviantart. Here is an interesting and impressive creation for The Sims2.

What in the heck is the fascination with Shiala?

Only thing she has different from any other Asari is being green. I have no interest in her as a squadmate. Much rather Aria.

Shiala = better looking than Aria
Shiala = better personality/character than Aria
Shiala > Aria

I am very much for Shiala, too. I have this theory, that every spot of Shiala that Shepard kisses becomes blue again. Though for more than a temporary effect continuous treatment is required.

"Continuous treatment" huh?  So THAT'S what Asari call it these days:D

I thought she had awesome voice acting.  And having a commando on your crew is never a bad thing.

I just wondered about the Shadowbroker video footage and our all favorite green asari. If there would come further footage about her as well what would you folks like to have?

Old videos from her time as a commando?

Some vids together with Saren and Benezia?

One from her time as a diciple before Saren showd up?

Or a more recent moment of biotic instability?

Be creative! Maybe a Biowarian looking for a good idea is reading even our humble thread, you never know! ;)

I know this is a very old post, but I feel compelled to answer it.

A good vid would be of her on Feros trying to solve some kind of problem with biotics, but failing repeatedly.  The right camera angle could really show her frustration and sadness.  It has potential to be a very powerful moment.

My continued interest with Shiala is that her experience and condition she still fits into events.
-Possesses the Prothian cipher
-Overcame Reaper indoctrination
-Was an acolyte of Liara’s mother Matriarch Benezia

I find what I perceive to be her nature equally compelling. After Shiala’s release from the control of the Thorian she perceives the error of her past judgment (in following Matriarch Benezia) and wishes to make amends by serving the colonist’s interests at Zhu’s Hope. If the player decides to execute her she quietly resigns herself to her fate. We see her again in Mass Effect 2 where it is obvious that she has kept to her earlier promise to Shepard. I would describe her as having a noble spirit.
In my estimation Shiala is too rich of a character to blithely pass by in Mass Effect 3.

*I love the new artwork

Has anyone noticed that Shiala is so far the only counterpoint to the out-of-control, has-no-discernible-rules plot point that is Reaper indoctrination? The whole Reaper magic idea seemed badly broken to me from the start, but the fact that there was at least one person who escaped from it was I guess enough for me to turn a more or less blind eye to this massive deus ex machina in ME1. Of course, now that Feros has been buried and disowned, I wouldn't expect this to figure into the story going forward.

Given her previous training and Samara's age, she might also make a wonderful justicar trainee for Samara. Shiala lost the place she originally belongs in, along with her fellow commando sisters through treason, indoctrination, and consumption by a gaint plant, yet she shows remarkable skill and compassion. But in the end Feros doesn't really seem like the place she belongs. She perfectly fits the "sole survivor" schmee, and yet that's no arguing that she's "N7" - a special forces soldier of the highest possible qualification.

Samara lost her daughter, killed Morinth with her own hand, even though she felt no less love for her than any mother, in fact she felt exceptional pride for Morinth. She's old and even asari won't live forever. It would seem natural for her to look for a scholar, to pass on something of herself to a successor. Thus I could very well imagine Shiala becoming Samara's "Padawan Learner". Even the weapons match. Guessed by her clones Shiala's favourite weapon is an assault rifle and she wields powerful biotics, just like Samara, even though I see a stronger emphasis on outright combat than biotics.

@Schatten: Shiala doesn't (in my opinion) possess the ruthless disposition necessary to be a Justicar. Considering her history with Saren, the Thorian, and Shepard, she can't help but see shades of gray, and Justicars do not believe in gray.

I don't think Samara is ruthless. I think she's completely and utterly compassionate and devoted to the justicar code and the goals it implies. What you think is ruthlessness is just conviction, compassion, consequence. Protect the innocent and punish the wicked.

My Shepard never felt any particular attraction to Samara, but she admires her for standing up to an ideal with such consequence. You must not make the mistake of judging Samara by the fears of the people on Illium regarding her. She doesn't slay every single sinner on Illium she's on a mission to hunt down one particular asari fights the eclipse getting there, but doesn't care much about all the little signs of corruption down there. She even gives the Eclipse sister she's fighting when you first see her opportunity to surrender. It's not like Samara was Mercyless with her, she simply  refuses mercy.

Shiala chose the side of good and never willingly stepped away from it. Matriarch Benezia and Shiala both were indoctrinated, that makes them victim, not criminal. And still she does her best for "redemption" and deliberately accepts any punishment. Why wouldn't she be a justicar? She certainly has the skills. In my opinion someone who's seen darkness and is still standing, still believes in good makes a lot better justicar than an ambitioned young woman on the apex of success who's never known failure, for whom it is easy to believe in an own ethical superiority.

The purpose of the code is not give the justicars privileges, on the contrary, they have any privilege they want anyway. Its purpose is to limit the justicars, putting limits on them from the inside because there are no outer limits ot a justicar. It's a set of rules. As Samara says: It does not offer spiritual enlightment.

So, the very first thing, a justicar needs is, imho not ruthlessness, but compassion. So they can stand true to themselves and the code even if it does hurt.

I guess I just don't want to think of Shiala being a Justicar. One does not have to be a Justicar in order to do good for other people. I'd much rather Shiala become the first alien governor of a human colony.
