Just curious: Have not gotten the Witcher (yet), was wondering how you think DA:O stacks up vs. it. Thank you in advance for your constructive and calmly formulated responses.

A very different game in style and content. But enjoyable nevertheless. Get it.

The main problems I had with the Witcher are the poor quest-structure and the combat system.
The combat basically consists of chaining up attacks by clicking the mousebutton in a certain rhythm. Some people enjoyed it, I was quickly bored of it. If you okay with quick time events, you'll probably be fine.
The quest structure is somewhat poor in that the game simply does not give you all the information you need. For instance, people you need to speak to only appear at cetain times of the day, so you end up waiting for 20 in-game-hours just so that you can turn in the 10 wolf-pelts (yeah, all the side quest are lazy fetch quests, the main quest is fairly good though). Another example would be a certain boss that you can only reliably defeat by use of a certain potion, however you are never told this.
If you have a lot of patience and are willing to alt-tab to the witcher wiki every couple of minutes, go get it.
