I just maxed out my sentinel and I have this lousy extra bonus point I can't do anything with.
Gonna bring up my Xbox file and show stats

- Heavy Warp

- Area Overload

- Power Armor

- Guardian

Throw : 2 points
Cyro Blast: 3
Energy Drain: 1

Is that good or should I spend the cash/minerals and retrain?Posted Image

I'm not a fan of going Medium on Cryo blast, I generally only give it 1 point or 10 (for Area) your build will work just fine though, as is. Not spending 1 point isn't gunna kill ya.

All you really need on a Sent. is Tech Armor...lol.

I just finished my first Sentinel Insanity run last night. You can basically stand in an entire crowd of husks, wait for it to explode, and reapply...and repeat.

My build was:

Area Throw

Heavy Warp

Area Overload

Assault Armor <-----cheapest talent in the game...srsly.

Guardian

I chose shotguns as my weapon training since Sentinels are basically invulnerable as it is - later on you can simply walk up to most enemies, reapplying Tech Armor, and then blast them in their face with the shotgun (tad exaggerated).

Reave would be a good bonus talent for any class, you can choose it instead of warp. However, I decided to not use my bonus for the Sent - they got everything they need already.

It's true. Assault armor can pretty much Solo the game for you. (doesn't work so well on Praetorians... I'm just sayin...)

Aye which makes it a rather boring class to me. Perhaps I should have gone with some Cryo Blasting mixed in...

Well, to be fair, using assault armor to annihilate everything certainly isn't the most efficient way to deal with critters (other than husks and scions). Collectors, for example, (little wimps!) run away from you.

Yup I took heavy warp/ guardian/area overload

but are they right? Is there that big of a difference between the two armors? or warps?

choose the one with more shields if you dont do well under stress or the other one to give you breathing room in heavy fights

i always use heavy warp so i cant comment on area

There's a huge difference between the 2 armors. They almost define your play style.

Only really try insanity when you want it and feel you're ready for it - it can be really frustrating till you figure out the most important tactics. Too many people try it just because they want the achievement and then cry it's broken.

Not to eliminate, necessarily. But they get knocked down if their defenses are gone, and they are still momentarily knocked back a bit if they have defenses up if they are in the huge radius of the explosion. So using it in conjecture to gunfire and squaddies stripping enemy defenses, the only other talents you really need to bother with are warp and overload (and even those aren't a necessity).

Ok I did wanna try for the achievement. I almost have them one cept for a weapon and paramor one or something

But how hard IS insanity? I've seen people whine its too easy and people whine that its nerve wracking hard :(

I've watched Gatsby's Adept vids, and pray I can be as good as him.... sooo..... tactics anyone? I usually duck in cover, aim, fire, rinse and repeat

Insanity starts to get easier once you've gained some critical talents, weapons, and upgrades. The early game is probably where most of the whining occurs. The people who stick with the difficulty level and get better are the ones who probably say that it isn't that bad.

Personally, the only difficulty level I have played ME 2 on is insanity (thankfully you don't have to unlock the difficulty level like you had to in the first ME), so I myself do not know exactly how different the game is on the lower difficulty levels, but from what I've read, it's mainly that enemies have much more defensive protections (armor, shields, and barriers), so you have to be much more tactical when you play (at least in the early parts of the game, once many of your powers have evolved, many classes can breeze through enemies).

NG+ level 30 insanity is tough.... all enemies are scaled to level 30 and you have no uprgades and your squad doesn't have any of there loyalty powers unlocked.

Fire around corners.... and use the cain on end bosses and only end bosses.

You need every heavy weapon upgrade researched before you can upgrade the cain (it basically destroys anything it hits.  I used it on hardcore on the Colossus and it took it down to a sliver of armor.  Good stuff... my go to weapon whenever there is a boss battle.

NG+ is doable... just difficult until after the collector ship (Harbinger is just evil).

Insanity is a challenge, and some classes are easier at it than others, make no mistake.

But don't kid yourself. ME2 Insanity isn't exactly ninja gaiden 2 on master ninja. It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

Its not that hard the best way to do it is trial by fire just put it on insanity and go though dont give up and learn from every death. For example if you die memorize enemy spawns prepare for them look for more creative positions in maps that give u advantages. This is a strategic game so thinking and coming up with a strategy goes a long way. Once you play insanity its easy. I didn't even think insanity was that challenging however I am gifted in games and learn things quick. Also look at "good" peoples videos watch their play styles then try to emulate with your own thought process too it. the worst thing you want to do is think that any one person here showing their videos is perfect, they are not. Learn from their videos and play style and build on it. Best advice to getting through insanity is nike's slogan JUST DO IT.

I suck on Insanity, but now that I have completed the 2nd Praetorian battle on the ghost ship, it seems to be getting easier. I know there are more hurdles to follow but am starting to get the hang on insanity. Starting to actually enjoy it abit.

Insanity is more like a "hard" mode. By no means is it much of an accomplishment to complete.

If you haven't played insanity before it will seem really tough (especially Horizon), but stick with it. It's actually not that bad.

As for planet scanning and not getting all upgrades, optimize your scanning method. As you will need all upgrades for insanity. I've got it to the point now that I've got all the resources I need by the time I'm hitting Horizon.
