Okay I've been reading the wiki, sometimes it just seems to assume that I already know something and then briefly says, do this or that or this or that, and that's the end of the article.  So while I may have followed it fine up to a point, then it seems some articles just assume that i know what to do after that point.

Anyway, what would be really useful and if it exists tucked away in the wiki or elsewhere please post me a link to it and i'd be more than happy to go read some more, what would be really useful is a walkthrough of the editor that takes the user from begining step of creating a new user created campaign (module, is that the right term), from the beginning to being able to load it up in the game.

I don't mean that it needs to go into details about terraforming and placing all the objects to bake up a real full campaign, just an outline of the steps from A to Z as in
1. Click File, then Manage Modules then create a new module, give it a name
2. Click Area to create new area
3. Click level to create new level
4. Click X, Y Z to do this
364. Click export

You understand what Im trying to say, yes?  So that it goes in steps for a person to create a very basic custom module that just allows the user to open it up in the game and there is their character.  I think the rest could be filled in by much of the info in the wiki.

Now if there is such a beast someplace please clue me in and I'll go do some more reading.

Thanks,

There are some projects on the way to create step-by step tutorials (like "how to create an item and get it into the game" and "how to create a simple area"), and I am fairly certain they will be expanded and improved over the coming weeks.

In the meantime, look at the tutorials that are already in the Wiki.

I spent a few hours last night just chugging through the whole set of tutorials on the wiki. They lead you step by step through the creation of a quest and placement of monsters. You've already done those?

One of the BioWare level artists is in the process of creating a more detailed and better tutorial for using the level editor.

Is someone sending him/her pie and beer and a trampoline in gratitude?

Cool, any idea if they are going to be fixing the camera in the level editor? That's my major complaint at the moment, unless there is some way I am unaware of. I was hoping they would be implementing the nwn camera style like the area editors, because I am very familiar with that and it easy to operate.

I am having some similar difficulties with the wiki. Right now I just want to be able to play a basic area in the game. I went through the area tutorial, and since it had a layout for your character to walk in, and a starting point for your character, I figured that should be enough to at least play in the game. Have your character move around aimlessly in the area. But the wiki didn't explain very well on how to get it to work in the game.

On the front page of the wiki, there is a section heading entitled "Exporting and Running a Module. The instructions there were enough to get me through when I needed it.
