Okay, I'm sure many of you (myself included) wishes there was more content/interaction with the ME1 LI's.  I myself am a huge Liara fan...she is my favorite Mass Effect romance PERIOD, with Ashley and Tali as close seconds.  However, I would have liked to see Liara and Ashley/Kaiden fleshed out more.

I think we can all agree that making them squad mates for ME2 would be unlikely (but awesome!) and it is doubtful BioWare would go through all that work to make quality dialog, loyalty quests, etc.  If they did, I would LOVE it, but again, I highly doubt that will happen.

So, the nexy best thing (and easier to do) would be for BioWare to release DLC that contains a few side quests related to the ME1 LI's.

My idea is that, once downloaded, TIM will contact you and report that Ashley/Kaiden was deployed in a top-secret Alliance project (again) that involved investigating the Collector threat (it is assumed that after Horizon, Ashley/Kaiden reported to Anderson about the Collectors, and even though he believes it, no one else does.  So he secretly dispatches them on a mission to gather data.)  So now TIM gives this info to Shepard, and then the player can go and help Ashley/Kaiden doing various side quests and such.

For Liara, TIM should concact Shepard and tell him that a Cerberus scout team has intercepted a distress beacon that originated from Liara's private shuttle, and he believes she had uncovered critical data about the Shadow Broker, but now she is being hunted by his agents.  So he gives you the coordinates, and you go to rescue Liara and maybe do a couple extra missions to uncover more data on the Shadown Broker.

After these missions, whether it is Ashley/Kaiden or Liara, they give you a more "emotional" second-reunion scene where they explain what life was like after you died, and where Shepard can explain properly what happened to him and whats going on now.  After this conversation, the LI that you just helped will accept you back into their life and inform you that as soon as your mission is over, they will re-join you, but in the meantime they just need to finish up a few things.

Also, these can be available whether you romanced Ashley/Kaiden or Liara or not.  If you didn't romance them, at the end of their mission they could thank Shepard and reaffirm your friendship, and they will promise to rejoin you when you are done.  Obviously if you DID romance them, there will be addition romance dialog that I discussed above.

This is just an idea I had that would allow for DLC with these characters that wouldn't be too difficult or involving, but allow a sense of "completeness" that would really connect the relationship that was in ME1 and truly incorporate it into ME2.

I know this is just an idea and hope from a single Liara fan, but maybe there is something to it?  I don't know...just tell me what you think.  Thanks for reading! :o

Would just be easier if they contacted shep after the suicide mission and then it took off from there. They need to focus their DLC on post mission events so they can tie ME2 and M3 together while not having to spend time in M3 doing the same thing.

I agree post mission would be better. I finished my main playthrough of ME2 and don't want to redo it. But I would feel compelled to were they to offer what you are proposing.

Btw, take a look at the romance pack in my sig. I didn't invent it, but I think its a great idea and you, op, might really like it.

I agree that if they released DLC it could be completed before or after the suicide mission, whichever you prefer.

Yeled, I will check out that link!

Sounds familiar....

Back on topic: That's a good idea OP, for those who want to remain faithful, I suppose that may function as a good cookie to them.

If the DLC isn't already done at launch, you ain't gettin' it.

DLC is not a game expansion, it's a way to reward those with legitimate, new copies of the game by slowly issuing the rest of the game to them of the following weeks. By issuing the DLC slowly they prevent people form running off and immediately selling the game after they finish it. It's a positive way to encourage people to actually buy the game new, instead of pirating it or buying it used, a downright smart way to do it.

Bioware already put a huckster in DA:O to sell Warden's Keep, don't know how it worked but it seemed really cocky to tell me you had time to build a guy into the game to sell me the rest of the game I paid for already, so I never bought it.

Makes more sense to simply have it be post mission only so that they have ingame time to finish up w/e they were doing/cool down

Just finished reading that "Romance Pack" DLC. I really like that idea, but it left off the ME1 romances. My idea is pretty much the same as that, except for the ME1 love interests.

Post mission would be an amazing idea. Then you can get them in ME3 as well.

How does DLC prevent people from buying the game used?  It's $10 cheaper at GameStop so you can probably get it off ebay for less then that, and while you miss out on cerberus unless you pay $15, they said that there would be both free and pay DLC so getting it new vs. used doesn't give you an advantage there.

Yeah, I mean one would assume that your ME LI isn't jsut going to show up and throw themselves at your feet in ME3, so this is a good way to start introducing ME3 without having to spend actual ME3 time doing it.

Yeah post-suicide mission would be cool, I admit.  Then there could be dialog where Shepard tells his ME1 LI what happened, who lived/died, etc.

I'm with you.  I would add the ME1 LIs to the Romance Pack concept.

I am not sure when comes to Ashley/Kaidan plot but i saw here at his form some hints that there will be Liara DLC but will be released after introduction of last part of ME Redemption comics (i think in mid of April).

By the way i think if such DLC would be placed after C-base then when comes to Ash/Kaidan there should be two choices who should give Shepard info about them.
If you remain "loyal" to Timmy then he, but if you blow up C-station and say Farewell to Timmy then Anderson should send you warning that Ash/Kaidan might be in big troubles.
And in Liara case if you cut contact whit Timmy then person who could warn you that she is in troubles could be Aria or even Detective Anaya from Illum.

In my case i dont want to have whit Timmy any kind of contact after C-base unless this contact will end in putting him to cryostasis at the new prugatory prison ship:devil:

On the side note i hope that Liara case will be playable even for people who don't read ME Redemption.

Exactly, it's easier to tie into the story and has the potential to be more emmotionaly engaging becuase Shep didn't know if they were going to make it back and couldn't stop thinking about so and so, blah blah blah.
