I'm not an expert when it comes to processors, but isn't that one below the minimum?Mie wrote...

Generally speaking, if it's a laptop, it's pretty much a dead end. Desktops can be upgraded easily; laptops can only have the RAM and the storage subsystems upgraded, for the most part.

This problem seems to entertain a lot of people. I really hope we can get a fix for this as I've tried everything from uninstalling to updating every single driver on my computer.

I removed the ME2 folder renamed the ME1 folder then did a complete re-install useing Win7's ability to install again with the correcft settings. I made progress to the point that I could play ther game BUT it crashed several times in the opening movie seens, each time I got a little further along. On the last attempt the game just FROZE while i was in the character creater and had to reset the compt. to do anything. Thats as afar as I've gotten so far will attempt to do more today.

We haven't heard back from the original poster so far. He had installed a bad video driver, but that driver's defects weren't yet known about four days ago. He has a Geforce video card, you have a Radeon. I suspect that the two of you have different problems.DrLecter wrote...
Is there any cure for this problem yet?

You have omitted mention of your OS version, your service pack, your various drivers' IDs, and the specific identity of your audio processor. Vista is / was particularly uncooperative with games, if you use that one; requiring all sorts of special hoops be jumped through. I tested the two public betas for it and never upgraded to it. I do have and am getting used to Windows 7, but only for occasional use to date. I still run games in less complicated OS versions. The less so, the better, and when Win2000 can be used, I will use that.
