The party camp exists in a mystical time warp. This is how Oghren has a baby, and also how Wynne can rightly say that its been a year since I left the Circle, even though I've only been to Ostagar, Lothering, and the Tower in this time.

Oghren's got a child now? So he abandoned his family, even though the Blight was over? Awesome.

If that was a female NPC, I wonder how many people would say "But she abandoned her baby! How could she!". More than they do now, I'd wager.

Sigh. I can't bring myself to feel anything towards him, though. I've seen his banters, his camp dialogue, his interjections, his quest - but there's nothing in him that can make me care for this NPC one way or the other.

I would've preferred Sten, but still. Look on the bright side.

Atleast we dont have Morrigan in the party.

A solution to the rather speedy birth, hes not the father! Turns out it was Sandal's. Just because he can only say enchantment, it doesnt mean he cant kill darkspawn and enjoy women.

I think a lot of people would've taken anyone else over Oghren. But to say that you don't want Morrigan? At least her character had some interesting dialogue and she was a powerful mage. I don't know, guess that's just what I'd prefer. I guess my rogue archer will just have to make due with Mhairi being his body guard now. Hope she can hold up half as well as Alistar or Sten could.

Well, you know, the little woman can look after the baby.  He is, after all, a man!  Who has important manly things to do!  I don't see how you can expect him to prioritize his own child above killing more darkspawn.

Good to have him back. I always abuse him as magic bait at beginning of fights 5% resistance might not be much but add a couple of nice items and runes you should reach over 50% easy... assuming ofcourse spell resistance bonus stack which i don't know for sure heh:o)

It's even better. With the right equipment, you can bring it well over 70 or even over 80%! Templar/Champion, high spell and mental res, high physical res, high hit with a few other good party members and off you go :D

@ Chris... LOL, you're massacring the community. 25% says 'no', 25% says 'yes', 50% says 'why care?' and the other 100% is cheering.

Oh wait... 200%. Hmm Image IPB

Another question: so we've got a partially forced story now? That's too bad Image IPBImage IPB

Soldiers (male and female) leave their families to fight in war all of the time. Oghren is a true warrior, it's his life and his job. He's also one of the only companions who join the Warden because fighting the Blight is the right thing to do.

I personally was hoping for a return of Leliana or Morigan myself.

Ehh... You all misunderstood mr. Melo. By several he meant real life months. From November to March is 4 months. A several number :P

It cracks me up how NOBODY wants Oghren, and the few people who are saying they are glad to have him are just trying to be difficult. I will not be using him, worst char of the game.

And by they way....what is with the big debate about the time period of Oghren having a baby???? Who cares?? It's a very minor detail.

Reminds me of Ser Jory. We inducting him into the grey wardens now, too? Though I guess he'll be fine with it as long as we spike the punch...

I think the point here is that we as fans are concerned about our stories from Origins carrying over to Awakening properly, or are they going to change up the endings for Origins when you install Awakening? I am disappointed that the returning character is Oghren, but it's not necessarily because I didn't like him, but because he is not the one I would have chosen. Oghren was good for a laugh, but he didn't do me much good as far as being an effective member of my party. I mean, I already had Sten if I wanted a two handed weapon powerhouse.

And I REALLY want to know if Oghren's approval rating and equiped armor and weapons are going to come over to Awakening when I import. I'm not sure if I should bother with him.

I never much liked Oghren. He was annoying, his character class was not useful to my playstyle, and I wish they'd brought Wynne or at least Dog back.

I am not much of a Oghren fan either. Still perhaps I will give him a little bit more face time in this play through. I am currently having an evil female elf. So a horny drunk dwarf will be fine and dandy.

Still my first character Alyosha will always have the hope he may find his one true love Morrigan again. That is how that blood mage warden in the tower can repay his debt. Find my woman and child.

Ummm, anyone else see some indescrepencies in the story line already? They are saying that Awakening is a few months after Origins, yet Oghren had enough time to breed? I guess the gestation period for dwarves is very short.....
