If Bioware wanted to keep the Paragon/Renegade system, I think they should make the choices available regardless of the amount of points you have in either. However, it might be interesting if your success in doing one depends on how many points you've accumilated.

Take a scenario where you, say, push a merc against a glass window and threaten to push him all the way if he doesn't tell you what you want. If you have a high enough Renegade score, he tells you what you want. If you don't, you push him through the window.

I also think that sometimes not using the Paragon/Renegade options should give you just as rewarding a result storywise. There are very few places in ME2 where I actually preferred not to use a Paragon/Renegade option, but I got the feeling the game resented me for it.

Agree. I think they should make it so each character judges you individually (Like I've heard DA does)

Ne way. I'm sorry but I don't want Grunt getting mad over me sparing someone's life. I hated this about Dragon Age, and I'd hate it about Mass Effect 3. Ya, they can throw in some witty line or something, but no way in hell do I want a bar telling me how much they like or dislike me.

I hate the Paragon/Renegade system. It doesn't work it need's to be tweaked and I don't want paragon/renegade points for every dialog option either.I'm sorry Tail I don't feel that way about you. +2 Renegade. I also hate that I get plus renegade for my opnion like agreeing that the genophage was nessecary at the time I mean the krogan were going to take over the galaxy. By that logic fighting the Reapers is renegade. For some bigger choices I'd like to see Paragon/Renegade point's like rewriteing the heritics, the game slaps you across the face saying that rewriteing them is bad but you only get Paragon points for rewriting them.

I'd prefer the paragon/renegade effected how the choice played out and not stop you from making the choice. My first ME2(A level 60 import) play through I ended up with 2.4 bars of renegade and 3.33 bars of paragon. Poor Miranda died because of her lack of loyalty. My second play through I had maxed paragon and only 1ish bars of renegade. I had to alter my play style in order to keep loyalty. I don't like it, it does not promote making choices with consequences, it promotes keeping in lockstep with one choice.

Sure you can max out paragon or renegade and still make opposite choices. But since you generally don't know how many paragon choices you need to max it or if there are enough left to max it out you play it "safe" and get stuck making so called choices you would normally not make, until it is obvious you will max it out. By then what 75% of the game has gone by? Awesome you were in a proverbial straight jacket for 3/4th the game you had so many choices. And the consequences aren't really consequences, they are just annoying and stupid, you can't make X decision. Sure the end result will almost always be the same, but you just can't choose the lovely red choice.
