My problem is I have reached the Bloodmother fight, however I don,t have Shale. #1 Shale is downloaded from my promo code, but I don.t know how to get Shale and I need to know how to get back to whatever place Shale is, actually after being this far along in game and level 15 can I go back without losing progress, the world map will not let me go back further than Ozzamar. I really need help I played a lot of games, but this one is taxing my brain and I went back to easy mode from normal. I had posted my problem in the other forum where no spoilers allowed telling them same thing and also that I had killed Wynne. They told me I don't need Wynne to beat Flemeth or Bloodmother, but Shale will make life easier for me, but I guess cause it was no spoiler forum, that was all the info I got. Any help would sure be appreciated.
Thanks
Shale

Well...
First, you really don't need Shale for the Broodmother fight. Just don't engage the Broodmother in melee under any circumstances and you should be fine. And don't stand on the Broodmother (look at the floor - most of that is the Broodmother).
To get out, you need to go to Orzammar and use the big door. Then you'll have access to the world map.

Leave the deep roads, leave Orzammar and travel to Sulcher's Pass on your map.
When leaving the deep roads you should get the option to switch to the world map so you don't have to go to Orzammar first.

Did you make sure the download content was active on that character?

Yes Wolfaura it says Stone Prisoner is enabled.

Sulcher's Pass should be on the map on the laft hand side of Lake Calenhad. If not, it is glitched.
Try loading another charecter and seeing if it is on their map.

You should have Sulcher's Pass in your quest journal, too. If not (and you haven't already been there), then the content is not enabled.

The only pass on map to the left of Lake Calenhad is Charlens Pass.

That is most likely it. yours just seems to be miss spelled. It should be on the west side of the lake near the center.

Since it's a DLC item, it will be in gold on your map (ordinary destinations are white).

One of the replies was try loading another charactor, does that mean start another game? Because at top where it says switch charactor before loading game, when I click that nothing happens.

Sylvius the Mad I went to the only place in gold, "Bann Lorens Lands" I found a dead body named Elric with quest arrow above it, when I clicked on it nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Bann Loren's Lands is from Return to Ostagar, so clearly you have that installed. Though I admit I don't know what a "quest arrow" is.
But if that's the only gold marker on your map, then you either don't have the Stone Prisoner activated (check the Downloadable Content screen from the main menu) or you don't have it installed at all.

Charlen's pass doesn't exist. Just go there and if a man called Felix de Grosbois is there, it is a Stone Prisoner location.

DJ0000, I feel like such a noob, I have been trying to find that pass. Will you please let me know how. My thanks to all that have been answering me, because I don't want to buy or use any cheats.

Sulcher's Pass is a different pass from the one for Orzammar, which is Gherlan's Pass on the map. Sulcher's Pass will be a gold square on the western (left) shore of Lake Calenhad.

I just checked again on my DLC and even though it says stone is enabled, it also says on right that 1.0 version is required and I believe I did all the patches before entering my promo code for it and even if I get through the game without Shale I will not be able to use prmo code again even if I uninstalled game back to 1.0 version, so I guess I'm S.O.of L

I run all the DLC on a patched game version (1.02b). Try this...start the game, disable Stone Prisoner, open your save and resave the game. Exit the game, re-enable Stone Prisoner and load the new save.

Likely you are missing the Stone Prisoner Offer, or it is corrupted. It is a separate download that puts Sulcher's Pass on the map.
See Section 2 of the DLC In Game Errors FAQ for instructions on how to check that the offer is installed, and how to manually install it.

Kepha I checked that link and it seems very difficult for me to understand with all the problems people are having with promotional DLC like Shale that Bioware does not just put Shale in a patch.

Beguiler--
Since Shale is part of "premium" (pay for it) DLC, BW probably won't make it part of a patch that everyone gets--although I'm not quite sure why everyone couldn't get the "offer" part (which apparently I did during first install). You should definitely consider following those instructions if you want to get Shale installed--they really are the best community answer to DLC problems.
To go back to your original issue, though:
- The Broodmother (BM for the rest of this) does nasty nature damage. Look at nature resistance on your team, and use appropriate protection (balms).
- In sort-of agreement with Sylvius: Never engage the BM in melee while standing directly in front, or with anything other than a well-armored character. You *can* beat the BM with nothing but ranged attacks and magic, and that may in fact be the easiest approach.
- Other things to consider: Put your feet on rocks (another good point from Sylvius' original reply). The tentacles can't directly rise up under you unless you're standing on the pink goo. Remember that the BM is large and can't move -- so stationary AOE attacks, and fire bombs etc., are great ways to do some damage.
The lead-up to the BM is one of the best parts of the game--but once I noted her limitations, she's one of the easier top-level bosses (though still time-consuming of course). If you could beat Jarvia to get there, you can definitely beat the BM.

Ok Flag after roaming the forums for a long time and as you said there is quite a lot of suggestions what to do, however I tried unchecking stone and force loading and saving and exit and clicking enable on stone and going back, that did not work and I tried to put the developer in properties to be able to warp. I get a invalid path when I try to apply change, but now the good news I just beat Broodmother 15 minutes ago. I finally just quit where the dark keep respawning where the anvil is and the rotating big faces. My DLC for stone was in my box along with Bloodarmor, that's why I made remark Bioware should patch it. As for the rest of DLC you have to purchase I'll pass until they get a fix patch for all the problems I noticed players are having. This kind of thing has happened far too often when EA pushes the Devs to get a game on shelves. Thanks for your help, A hint on beating the respawning guys would be appreciated, after 6 tries I decided to quit for the night.

KEPHA! Great news, I just did the bin ship Dazip thingy you suggested and it worked. I opened game and the Sulcher pass quest is on my quests and the gold box is on map, thats the great news, however I am locked in by Branka to get to the anvil and have been killed with party at least 10 times where the stone faces keep turning and more bad azzes respawn. if I go back to where I just beat broodmother, will I be able to to travel back far enough to do the Sulcher pass quest and get Shale before meeting branka again.
