I've downloaded the Toolset, but I can't in any way make it work.
I know that the problem is that the bw_dragonage_content files are missing, but I just can't restore them. I've tried using SQL Management Studio(got just the bw_dragonage_content.ldf), I've tried using the cmd to type that long list of commands (it says "Path not found", or either it shows a long list o errors)...

If anyone here is willing to do some nice charity, please help me solve this problem.

Have you tried this bat file here?

Yup.

The prompt says "SOURCE not found"

Maybe I'm not typing the correct location. I've created another folder for the game and, despite I've typed before it's location, nothing changed.

By the way, I'm trying to use Toolset 1.01, and my OS is Vista.

Source, that is where you have to change to the correct location where you installed your game. I just assume this is not a problem anymore.

It still doesn't work. Should I write in my language the Program Files folder? If so, should I add the (x86)?

EDIT: Now, it worked(I removed the <x86>).

Now, another problem. Once I press any key, the following appears:

"The syntaxis of the file's name, folder...is incorrect. TARGET directory creation failed. Please check."

BTW, sorry for my bad english Image IPB

X86 is added from 64 bit operating systems. You have explorer you can see.

A syntax error tells that you written something wrong. So you will have to correct it. SET TARGET= ....

PROBLEM SOLVED

I've tried unninstalling the Toolset, and installed it changing the default settings of the database server to .\\\\SQLEXPRESS.

Now, it's working. I'll try to play around with it. If any other issue appears, I shall come back here for help.

Thanks for the assistance, by the way.Image IPB

EDIT: Okay, now I have a situation here. The bw_dragonage_content files still weren't created, so I have a toolset without any database. What should I do?

Sorry if I'm bothering, but I want SO much to use the ToolsetImage IPB

I unninstaled the Toolset, but I couldn't unninstal the SQL Server for some reasonImage IPB.
I'll show here what I've tried:

1-I did download and install the toolset, it did'nt work. After browsing the forums, I tried to use the SQL Management studio to restore the database. The result was just the bw_dragonage_content.ldf file.

2-I tried using the cmd lines that are in the wiki(the .bat thing), but it responded Path not found.

3-Reinstalled the Toolset, changing the Database Server setting to .\\SQLEXPRESS. The Toolset was working, but there was no database, the pallettes were empty.

4-I've tried again using the cmd, changing some of the location lines. It worked only once, but no results were found(I did search in the PC for the bw_dragonage_content files-Did only find the .bak)

5-Now, I did unninstall the Toolset.

Sorry again if I'm bothering.

I don't know what exact location I should write in the cmd, so I'll write here where I've installed the game(using the folder's name in my language-portuguese).

The backup for the database is installed in:

C:\\Arquivos de Programas\\Jogos\\Dragon Age-Origins\\Dragon Age\\tools\\dbbak

The folder where the database should be is:

C:\\Arquivos de Programas\\DAOB\\Data

If anything you know may help, please post it hereImage IPB

You can try the "bat" again and enter SET TARGET = "C:\\Mydatabase" if you wish. Just type it correct, and remove the second slash this forum adds.

The database will move to the new location then. And you should reset the toolset to default settings again, if you want to see no empty.

I'm having the same problem... dont really understand the bat file link above..

I DL the toolset, and went thru the wiki to set it up right, but still keep getting the same popup saying
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unable to connect to the database.

Run the toolset configuration program and verify
your settings or search the toolset wiki
http://social.biowar.../wiki/datoolset to help with this issue.

this toolset must now exit.

it says to create a file called a .bat and to use note pad to edit it...dose that mean i create a new note pad file and rename it "MyRestore.bat".. then the third part of the thing kicks my thinking off a cliff as to whats going on now... run a text document? wtf?

please help this poor man!

if you save it correctly with the .bat extension and not as .txt and "open" the file instead of "editing it it will run it. you should see a command line window popup for short time. make sure you have closed down notepad however or you might get conflicts.

Not sure if it's worth it at this point. I have followed every recommendation on here and in the wiki. The database is there, no error loading ms sql, everything checks out just fine. Still unable to connect. I have created the myrestore.bat and let it run error free. I even went so far as to create the "older" folder in tools\\toolssql\\data and tried running the database from there. Default was in the daodb folder.
The files are there. I tried the manual install. no dice.
I am running win xp sp3. I have extensive dos experience, sql experience (i have run and created databases in mysql with no problems).
I am however getting this one error that may or may not have some effect.
In the wiki tutorial it mentioned using the ConfigureToolset.exe as part of the manual installation. When deselecting the default database box and clicking the ...  i get an error "unable to display database connection dialog". I have modified the registry as instructed and still get this error.

Since I can't really use the configure toolset tool, i looked into the defaultsettings.xml and found that the default datbase line was pointing to the wrong database. I changed it manually hoping this would have the magic effect but still unable to connect to the database.

There are far too many variables that can occur when you try to install this thing.

And XP makes it easier as well. U could check if the sql is running, but i think it is something to do with the database link. Perhaps if you used sql before, it is assuming a wrong database link.

Sql is running. I have checked all the links withing sql and all the database links point to the right places. It's as if the toolset itself is not looking in the correct place. I can't verify that because the configure toolset tool is not allowing me to uncheck the default database and configure it manually. I still get the error "unable to display database connection dialog".

If you look in the error logs folder in my documents, every time it fails to locate the database i get the same error. here:

Sat Mar 13 12:22:49 2010, INFO, ".\\PluginAPI.cpp", 106, "Initializing toolset."

Sat Mar 13 12:22:50 2010, ERROR, ".\\ConnectionData.cpp", 214, "CConnectionData::ConnectIO caught an exception: Bad HRESULT: 8007007e"

I am in the exact same situation as Bantheb. Following the wiki and trying everything did not solve anything and I also get the "Unable to display database connection dialog" message when attempting to change from the default database in the database configuration tool. I too am running xp32 sp3.

For testing purposes on the laptop with win7 home it worked out of the box without any problems. Might this be an xp issue?

I had the same problem ("Unable to display database connection dialog", Bad HRESULT: 8007007e) on win xp sp3 and solved is with repairing MDAC. Here are instructions for xp how to do it: http://www.macropool...dac_xp_sp2.html

Maybe it will work for vista / 7 too, but you'll need to google "Repair MDAC for <your os>".
