I would love to see Fergus, but I know he won't be a companion since he is the Teryn of Highever... it would just be nice to see him since he is MIA from the origin up until the epilogue

I don't think they handled the story of Fergus good at all IMO.

When we left Flemeth's hut in teh Korkari Wilds, we should have looked for him then. Found him or not, the quest should have progressed. Instead we play the whole game and do all this stuff and he shows up at the coronation and is like, hey man whats up.......like nothing ever happened.

I want to return my character to Highever, it's along the Waking Sea's coast and close to Amaranthine, and to meet Teryn Fergus. But, honestly I don't think Bioware has taken him returning into account. Not that I blame them, but we can't have everything, even if a little bit more makes it feel more complete.

Or at least have more dialogue options about him. Could at least ask someone in Redcliffe or Denerim if they saw him or talk about him a bit with your companions, because it seems that HN kinda forgot about Fergus after leaving the Wilds.

well maybe the patrol of troops that died in the korkari wilds had fergus in it. Considering the king said he was in the wilds.

I'd be interested in seeing what he's done since the end of Origins too, like if he's gotten remarried or anything like that since he's the new Teryn -- that and if he doesn't have more children, the family line dies. xD Well, unless my character (Cousland sister) and Alistair have kids... though supposedly it's near impossible for them to. Bleh.

I always felt that the Fergus storyline was a bit neglected and his popping up at the end a bit contrived. All we need was a few lines somewhere about his patrol not making it back and that they were dead and scattered. It seems that they could have used the wounded solider that we find in the wilds to address this issue. "Yes. Lord Cousland led our patrol. He was wounded and we were separated. I must report back." ; or something to that effect.

There is such potential for Fergus, i don't know if it was time constraints or what........he could even be a major villain, with him losing EVERYTHING in the same attack, then nearly losing his own life.....it just sucks that there was never anything from him.

Alistiar's mother had issues, if allistair inheirited those very issues, then he should in theory have no problem with having children.

I'd tell you the issue, but its a spoiler for Mr. Gaider's second novel, and I dont want to spoil it for anyone who hasnt read it.

Well Morrigan makes a valid point, he was in the wilds during ostagar, hes either dead or he escaped, either way looking for him would be hard and waste a lot of time especially with the darkspawn pressing in...

That being said, the only two teryns in one of my playthroughs is Fergus and his brother (myself) as Anora gave me Loghains teryn... really want to see that play out

I liked the option in the epilogue, something like: "I knew i should've looked for you." just made me laugh at how... odd the scenario was.

Would have been nice to..say save him or something before the end, and then the chat you have with him after the Archdemon is dead.

Should have filled that part of the story out more I agree,  I spent most of my play-through wondering when or if I would ever see my brother again, and nothing in the story encourages you to go look for him, it just  blocks you from that til the very end.

I second this... hell I thought he should have been the survivor in RtO.

in regards to the idea of making a brief detour to look for fergus, it would be silly, no? because for one, fergus is only involved in the game if you go with the human origin. if you were to go the role of the dwarf noble or the city-elf etc. then fergus would just be some guy whose family got massacred; nothing worth investigating. i think bioware only made him play such a small part for this very reason. however, if bioware were to give each origin its own unique quest, then by all means, we human nobles should go look for our lost older brother. :)

not to scrape an old wound but yeah, Fergus Cousland pissed me off royal in my first playthrough of DAO.

for 80 hours he is MIA. FOR EIGHTY HOURS. i cannot find my brother. the last task given to me by my dying father. the most logical person to go to in a time of crisis.

EIGHTY HOURS LATER HE SHOWS UP to give me a pat on the back and tell me about how he got swine flu for 80hours. gaggg, that made me furious.

The best way they could have handled Fergus is to have him show up during the Landsmeet. It could be like a voting standstill and Fergus kicks down the door and says "Highever stands with the Wardens. WHAT NOW, ****ES!"

But on-topic, I fourth that Fergus should have shown up during the Landsmeet.
