This is a simple question and maybe it has already been asked, but I looked around and didn't find an answer.
I'm playing through ME1 for a second time with my Soldier Shephard, but once I'm finished want to create a new Vanguard Shephard. My question is will the first Soldier Shephard be saved if I create a new/second one? I want to keep all the talents/money/saves, etc. associated with the first for when I start playing ME2, but want to try a different class without losing the first.
Thanks!
Will restart/new Shephard in ME 1 erase my original Shephard?

I think that each "career" (character) has a folder of save files, so staring a new character shouldn't erase any old characters. (You'd have to delete old characters to get rid of them.) I've finished ME1 with 5 Shepards and can import any one of them into ME2.

Each time you finish it's a different save, if you don't delete the first save it will stay. Say you start a ME2 game with a ME1 save, that ME1 save is still there, you can have any number of ME2 games off of the same ME1 save.

Even if you delete your careers, the special end game save is still there. Those files are stored in a different place, so they are separate from the regular saves.
You can use the same name for your different classes & not worry about it erasing the previous one. The save files have special naming properties that keep them distinct from one another.
