the game has run fine, without any problems and it has been great so far.

I have just passed the test and have to light the becon.

i run across the bridge and team up with a soldier and mage, the game crashes constantly after this point.

very annoying i want to play more.

anyone know the solution to this ?

i have quad core,
nvdia 2800 card,
vista 32
4 gb

had the same problem at the same point as you said.
I disabled everything in the online option tab and it did not crash for quite awhile but i still crash every now and then, no error report just that DA:O has stopped working.
It seems that i crash just after entering combat in certain areas of the game - done abit of testing and, for example, i crashed on some angry refugees outside of a village, so i restarted, went in the opposite direction and was attacked by some bandits - didnt crash. Went back over to the angry refugees and entered combat but i didnt crash this time. Very strange indeed lol

Same crash crossing the Ostagar bridge, just after spoken with Duncan and the king. The game simply freezes.

Tried to restore previous saved game, without success. Applied last drivers, windows update. no way
