I think we should just add Sandal as a follower with the way I see Awakening.
Suilebhain: Sandal, what are you doiing standing here in the middle of all these darkspawn corpses?
Sandal: ENCHANTMENT!
Heheh.

I don't hate him, I was just disappointed that it wasn't *my* favorite who was returning. Or my second-favorite. Or my third...
If he's sobered up, I'll bring him along with my new party. If not, he'll stay parked in my camp again because I have no patience for alcoholism as a source of "humor."

That was hilarious! And I agreed with most of it.lazuli wrote...
Here's an interesting video review that touches on some of these topics in a crude but humorous way:

How is Oghren a forced companion in Origins? I've seen this a lot and I'm confused... to me a "forced companion" is one you have to have during a particular quest. You don't *have* to take him into the Deep Roads for the Branka quest, and once you do have him you can leave him in camp. I know there's an option to tell him to leave, but I don't know if he'll come back. I've heard that Morrigan will return if you tell her to go.
I liked Oghren in Origins, and I'm interested to learn more about him and hear about his little kid!

That's a bit of an overreaction. Oghren is only a forced companion during the last bit of the Anvil of the Void quest. Yes, he's added to your camp without your imput, but so is Alistair or Morrigan. You can just ignore them and never take them along.Timortis wrote...
When Oghren walks up to you first time you try to leave for Caridin's Cross, none of the dialog options allow you to tell him to get lost and he's forcefully added to your camp. Then, during the Anvil of the Void, when you first meet Branka, he's forcefully added to your party, and you can't remove him until a new king is crowned. It's reaaaaaaly really annoying.

But still I'd much rather have nearly anyone else. Not having Dog return is nearly unforgivable. And nonsensical.
but that's still an argument i take as a little dodgy... there would be enough players who see [insert absent character], if you had at least a few (!) to choose. <_<Wishpig wrote...

A. Dog can easily die in DA:O, sense he isn't easy to implant *see below* putting time and effort into a character players may not even SEE isn't worth it.
it's an awesome warhound!! jeez....C. Dog needs his own unique new skills to account for the new levels.
Thats allot of new skills to create and balance and christ, how much
can a dog do?

You forgot the most important fact; he's probably the most entertaining character in the game (it's called personal tast, put down the flamethrowers).Haerja wrote...

I'm not using Oggy or the chick warrior ever in this game. Midgets smell funny and women can't fight. Period. Women make mages and rogues for me. So I have no idea who is going to be my fighter other than my main character. From the lack of characters it looks like I have no choice but to use two mages as it is.
