He has now done ONE amusing thing. He got startled after seeing the Broodmother for the first time. Best reaction ever!
Why all the hate for Oggy?

I like Oghren, a lot. He's hilariously low class and just doesn't care.
Mods that alter his apperance a bit does help taking him a bit more seriously from time to time, normally he's well quite weird looking.

didnt like oghren that much, he just sucked compared to shale and the others. Also he is always groaning like a horny midget drinking his ale and talking about women.
Not that i have anything agaist horny drunk midgets....

I don't have anything against Oghren really. It's just I always pick Orzammar last of the areas which means you get him late in the game. He is funny and I always use him in Orzammar and the Deep Roads as soon as I get him, and then I usually take him to the Party Chest in Soldier's Peak for some gear.
So basicly I only use this char in Orzammar and in the ending fight (where you split into 2x groups).
I would rather have Leliana or Shale in Awakening with me, but I suppose Oghren will get some fans in Awakening now or something. Would be funny if he accidently mixed some Darkspawn blood with his ale and became a Grey Warden xD That'd be hilarious
The new chars seem interesting aswell. Does anyone know if Sigrun is a Rogue?

What I found odd about Oghren was how he just... followed you. He just suddenly became part of my permanent party. Unlike Wynne who after the Tower quest said she'd like to join me, Oghren just followed me out of Orzammar. I just thought it was strange, maybe I missed a scene?

No you didn't miss anything. He works with you in the deep roads to find branka which has been his only focus for a long long time, afterwards there's basically nothing for him to do. He's pretty much despised in orzammar so he might as well just continue following the warden.

It's a tried and true archetype dating back to the early days from D&D; you stumble over someone, that someone notices the "P" for PC stamped on your forehead and that someone then decided to tag along as whereever that PC goes, both wenches and destruction are sure to follow in it's passing.Zukhramm wrote...

Yeah, the 'recruitment' cutscene of sorts for Ogren is him tagging along as you search for the anvil of the void. However, after that quest things do get awkward. Heck, however the Anvil of the Void quests ends it doesn't make sense for Oghren to stick around.
-If Branka is dead; you just killed the guys wive, for crying out loud!
-If Branka is alive; you just found out Branka's has lesbian tendencies, someone like Ogren will probably want to stick around.

Uhm, she doesn't have lesbian tendencies. She convereted, and also basically tells ogren to **** off. And regardless he thinks she's a nutty bat going on about the anvil which even he realises must be destroyed (if you go in that direction)

I don't hate Ogrhren. In fact he sort of grew on me over the playthroughs. Not my favorite, but not bottom of the barrel either. That honor goes to Zev, who I don't hate, but find kind of boring. I typically kill him at our first encounter. Then again, I love Leliana, who I know a lot of people despise.
Ogrhen may surprise us. I found Tali rather boring in ME1, but she was really fleshed out in ME2. The same may go for Ogrhen.

he fun i guess....reminds me of my late grandpa:)
but wats bug me is that they have announced "returning of an old favorite" and it turnd out to be Ogren......well...not a favourite og mine...
I think there where some answer that he is the only one that stick with you anyway,.....all the other guys can either live, be left or die.....
But i admit When they first said it was going to be an old favourite..i hoped Sandal:)

Although I enjoyed Oghren's banter, especially with Wynne and Zevran, I just realized that my faithful hound, Ser Barksleigh Growlmore, will not be with me on this adventure. SOB. I would gladly trade Oghren for my dog.
It's not that I hate Oggy, but he has never fetched me a small child.

I never really liked Oghren but figured he'd be interesting in Awakening but if he's still the same old drunk dwarf I guess he'll have to spend most his time in camp again because the other characters are way more interesteing imo.

People don't hate him, he just isn't the favorite because he doesn't really have a story as much as the other companions (which is why he was included in the first place no doubt) he'll grow on us in awakenings because he plays an important part.
