Zaeed is hanging by his teeth third day in a row in the SURVIVOR. Yesterday he won against Grunt by mere 3 votes! Today he's tied up with radioactive Kaidan. Don't let him down, people!

Yes most of peoples problems with Zaeed come from the fact that he has no dialogue wheel. My hopes is that if enough people post in this thread Bioware devs may see that Zaeed isn't really hated. I would die inside if there was no mention of Zaeed at all in ME3.
I'm pretty sure that all characters will make some sort of cameo at the very least. Hopefully, in Zaeed's case, it won't be just a cameo. His character needs to be fleshed out more so that people can see his awesomeness.

I'll just let him go after Vido.. or something. Or maybe he'll go look for some Quarian to repair Jessie.

Here's an advice: help Zaeed deal with Vido, and take him on every other mission.

Zaeed's ****ing great. He's the best damage dealer in the game (just short of Shepard). He fills the Canderous/Wrex spot on the crew by telling old merc stories. He's got the most to say out of the whole crew. He was absolutely free to download (although since he was available from the start I'd rather have had him in game already).
I Demand Zaeed returns for the next game. I demand a dialogue wheel. I demand more merc stories. I get the feeling that a loyal Zaeed will stick around with Shepard for the next game, but it wouldn't be out of character or unacceptable if we had to buy his services. The man has a talent for murder and we've got an army of unstoppable horror coming.
I normally play Paragon and even with a Paragon Shepard Zaeed is a valuable asset to the team.
I do not find him to be without depth, he has more depth than Grunt, Jacob, Morinth, and Garrus. I love every squad mate in the game, they're all complete characters who are wonderfully voice acted, animated, and designed. But Zaeed out paces those four in depth.
Zaeed has a past. He's ugly. He's dirty. He cusses. He's a murderer for hire. He's a boogeyman. I almost regret not being able to fight Zaeed to see what he's like on the hunt.
I also do not hold to the idea that Zaeed is a loose cannon or that Shepard needs to put him in line. He's merely the only crew member with his own identity and list of priorities. He uses a Renegade Interrupt option on the man who blew his face off and left him for dead. He only acts rashly once in the whole game and yet he's a loose cannon? No one said this about Wrex last game who murdered Fist because of the creds and against your orders. And Wrex would go on to point his gun against you. Both are team players but with their own sense of honor and their own objectives. Both are people you'd rather have counted as friends than enemies.
I do not understand wanting him as a Love Interest.
I do not understand this Jesse/Zaeed love thing. Jesse is a lot of things to Zaeed but mostly it's himself. It was his first gun and it was an admitted piece of crap gun. Zaeed's had a hard and terrible life. The details are a bit vague because he refuses to dwell on it and he's anything but a whiner. But he is nostalgic and that's how we learn from him. He keeps trophies to remember his good memories and this is important in understanding why he has Jesse.
Jesse is broken; ruined. Zaeed is broken and ruined. He considers the gun to be the reason he's feared and considered ruthless, but weapons have no life or mind of their own. It was Zaeed doing the killing. But Zaeed has no life outside of killing, he tried that once and never again. Jesse was the only constant in his life. He tried to make a merc group which would not be terrorist, slavers, or use batarians, which might speak to Zaeed's childhood since he has no family. He was betrayed by possibly his only friend and left for dead. From that moment on Zaeed was broken and ruined. His hopes for a future were destroyed. He's just a gun for hire and there's nothing past the current mission. He's dead already but too stubborn to die just like Jesse. But eventually Jesse jammed and finally stopped working. There's no way to repair Jesse just like there's no way to repair Zaeed. What he once was is no more. He's a murderer, fighter, soldier and nothing else.
He keeps Jesse to remind him of his past but show him that there will be a point where he cannot continue. It's a snapshot of the damage done by Vido. These are just facts to Zaeed. He doesn't complain, whine, or ****. He'll sit down in the trash room watching everyone on the Normandy because he's certain they'll betray him at some point and he'll be quiet. If you come around he'll fondly remember stories and tell them even without Shepard asking.
He's a broken and ruined man. He cannot be rebuilt. He's an indomitable force. He's fatalistic at times. He's Commander Shepard if the world drags Shepard down far enough.
Zaeed simply must be in Mass Effect 3. His appearance, stories, and past introduced in ME2 are prologue to the finish of his story. I doubt we'll be able to fully repair Zaeed. But maybe he can trust someone again. Maybe he'll believe in something besides creds once more.

TIM payed him to save the Galaxy. The galaxy isn't saved yet. If you honestly fullfilled your part of the deal -- helped him kill Vido -- I think Zaeed will return.

Even if Vido Santiago still needed to get shot, I doubt Zaeed could take much pleasure in it. It'd make too little difference, if the world was going to end anyway.
