They have enough shooter game experience now, so a jump to fps would be interesting. It would be like Mass Effect 2, where you return to your carrier after missions, and you could have choice in missions, being a commando, you could choose which planet to go to sometimes, and they could open it up by bringing in Karen Traviss's storyline where you can desert, that would bring lots of deep characters, and you could upgrade your gear ME2 style with armor and ME1 style with guns. If you do the desertion storyline, you would have a very open galaxy to explore. That would be so awesome. It'd be cool to see some Kotor stuff like the workbench. It would be an FPS RPG, but not like borderlands with loot, but like ME1 with xp for each kill, Halo style sandbox battles, and deep choices. If you read the books, there is a lot of serious story material that would work great with ME's dialog system and choices. (And Pandemic is pretty much dead, so yeah.)
Thoughts?

Also, having fetch quests would make sense on Mandalore where you're trying to earn the respect of the people I guess, at least more sense than a Spectre doing fetch quests for civilians.

The only snag is that a) you have to get Lucas to agree and b)get Ms. Traviss to sign on. I'm not sure she'll be receptive after being screwed over by Lucas.

LucasArts is too busy making Clone Wars cartoon crap. Sure, I enjoy the animated series, but the Star Wars games LA has been putting out (or licensing) lately have been garbage unless you're a 9 year old.

Not seen Clone Wars cartoons, but considering how (from what I've gathered) Lucas is busy stomping over his own canon (never mind EU stuff), I can't see it happening until/unless Lucas has another brain fart. Not exactly likely.

I agree, but the first RepCom slipped through and 5 books, so every now and then some good stuff gets licensed. I'm thinking Bioware tells EA "Hey, we got this. Remember Kotor? Us plus SW= Big bucks" and then EA uses its considerable weight to lean on LucasArts a bit. Good point about Traviss, hopefully she's a Bioware fan, and will see that this will be a good thing.

Then we get LucasArts on Bungie's bad side, and have them launched into the sun. Bioware gets the SW rights because they're awesome, and makes the game.

Whille i think RC is good game i would never sign that or be happy if i would see Bioware going in fps genres , i know they could prolly pull it good is not that , i just want em to stay with rpgs coz todays on market all you got is fps games and good rpgs are so rare......
