but with this catch – you have to use YOUR Shepard. Whether its female or male,
either one works.  Bottom line is,
you must present your Shepard to the community in a ME2 trailer.

I use the default Male Shepard, like always. will that still work for me?

I believe so considering the decisions you make reflect your character overall personality/traits. Don't hold me to it though.

I really want to enter this one, but I don't know if I'll have enough time between classes and work. Too bad it's not a ME1 trailer contest, or I would use the one in my sig.

@Images: Thank you! I'm glad you like it. :-)

@Polite: Thanks for adding me to the post.

I made a new version of my trailer using the "Heart of Courage" song this time.

I'm not sure which one I like better though.

Hmmm, I think the no lyrics rule kinda blows. No offense to OP but as a major trailer-watching junkie. Some of the greatest epic trailers have had lyrics. E.g Watchmen

And you've said no rock? Just orchestral? There are LOADS of instrumental rock songs. I think the orchestral rule is gonna kinda limit the tone most of the trailers will have to stick to.

Hate to admit it, i tend to agree, it does put some limits, however from my viewpoint I believe it's to make an clear cut line of what's being accepted and what is not. As the case is- it's to showcase your shepard in an trailer. Though i have to admit, it does put a strain on the ears when someone decides to have an lyrical song and an audio clip going at the same time. :P

Meh, only if they've been sloppy and

A) haven't timed it right
B) Haven't played with the audio levels to make it work

Which yeah, loads have on the web. You're quite astute, its the youtube equal of razors on a chalkboard.

If You want to make trailer with rock music I think You can.

There's also a rule to not use footage from original trailers and yet we have trailers with them and they're awesome.

I like your original one better, though hearing Harbinger at the beginning of your new one does send chills down the spine. Anyway, the cadence of music, talking, and images flows better with the first.

There are trailers that have some of the original clips, and those have been accepted because they're in game. That rule has been amended. Same with the time length. But I'm afraid that it will not be the case with the music rules. You must have instrumental music only. There was one trailer that had rock, but no lyrics. Thats fine. But absolutely no lyrics are allowed.

@Keylon - A few rules from the trailers have been broken in submissions. But just because its on the front page doesn't mean it will win, or be counted when the final decision comes. People need to clearly read the rules before working on these trailers. Because the rules are the rubric by which we will judge. As for the trailers showing footage from bioware trailers, that has been amended because it is actual in game footage. But if a trailer has footage from the blur trailer for example, that will be cut from the final selection because it doesn't follow the rules.

There are specific requests we have on the front page. Simple requests. Follow them, and you'll do fine.

It's really cool seeing everybody's respective styles. I liked to go for a slower more haunting trailer, CShep's is "fast and epic"...

It's going to be a good competition.

I wondered about that. I saw a few Blur trailer moments when watching them. Guess I should rewatch them and see who out of them I'm up against.

It's really all about the music; Freedom Fighters is that slow inspiring theme that doesn't require quick furious editing to get its point across and much suits a slower build up, whereas Destiny of Mankind has this grand choir dictating the tempo.

You could get some really nice competitions going actually after this one ends, each one focusing on an different aspect or perhaps character.

Oh truly, yes. The video needs to along with the audio or it'll never work. That's why I keep seeing these videos where all they've done is take the official trailers and put something like Requim for a dream or something and called it a day.

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but you realize that these armors may eventually be available on Cerberus Network, right?

A hint of that is Javier's post that the Incisor may be available there, eventually.

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/1706543/1

But, if one does win these armors, then you will get it WAYY before we all get them, I'm not discounting this contest at all, it is better than selling them on Ebay.  But, the rest of us hope that those armors will be on CerbNet one day.

Probably not, but... is there no way to temporarily get rid of the dialogue wheel? it's giving me a headache, whenever I see a gorgeous shot I want to use, the damn wheel messes everything up >:(

I'm running very low on HD space, hopefully I'll do something in time.

Renegade Trailer*

I've actually been currently working on a femShep trailer (and will finish it eventually), but I doubt I'll finish it by the Mar. 30 deadline. *Shrugs* I had no idea about this thread until pretty recently.

Actually the contest is open until May 30th so there is still plenty of time left.
I like your trailer. Just try to get rid of the windowboxing on your next one, please.

No, I think most of us don't do this for the armor which isn't nice at all in my opinion.
I don't like armor's with the helmet on.
We are doing this because we like it B)
