Working For STG in ME3

Salrians are the top scientific minds in the galaxy and the STG relies on intel, recon, subturfuge. The type of skills you need to move through a galaxy filled with hostile forces such as Cerebus, and potentially the Citadel and Alliance forces. I don't see any of those three groups being too keen on Shep in ME3 (unless you save the base for Cerebus perhaps, although I think Shep is expendable in TIM's eyes now that he has the base.)
If you're going to deal with an enemy with advanced tech like the Reapers it's not just going to be resolved with guns blazing and a intergalatic army. You'll need some type of tech advantage. That's why TIM wanted the base, in part. Yet I don't think the base is the end all be all of using tech against the Reapers. I think that the Salarians more then anyone else would be able to find some tech advantage. Perhaps the STG has to go find Prothean tech or ruins. Maybe return to Illos or something.
True, Mordrin can die in ME2. Yet, I think that the Salrian/STG connection may still work since Mordrin mentions his nephew being something of genius, and contacting him before the suicide run. True, the nephew may not know what was going on, but who's to say that he wouldn't investigate it. Mordrin also knew the STG captain on Vermeire. There are storylines tied to Mordrin that could bring Shep to the STG even if Mordrin is dead in your game.
The Salirans were also looking into the Keepers if you scanned them - another possible tie in.
Yes, the Salarians are Council members, but who's to say they have the same mind set as Mr. ''Ah yes, Reapers''.? There's no real reason that the STG could break away from the mind set of the Citadel and take the Reaper threat seriously. Mordrin's involvement in ME2 could play a part as to why that happens.

Well, they do have knowledge of the Reapers, considering that Maelon speaks about indoctrination. Well, technically Maelon has knowledge of the Reapers, but the STG probably knows it as well.
But I don't think so.
Maelon knows about the Reapers? I must have not been paying attention during that conversation

If you chose the option to say that they(the weyrloc) might be controlling him, he mentions that no matter what kind of control, being it reaper indoctrination or something else, it would decrease the person capability, or something like that.shinobi602 wrote...

It gives me hope that the Council is just playing retarded.
