As for the instructions being bad to begin with, I disagree, like i said my girlfriend who has never played a video game in her life, picked it up and understood everything. Although she is a teacher as a profession, so maybe that has something to do with it?...

Since my point is that you should read the manual, maybe you shouldn't be looking in game?ZeroMystic wrote...
Ok you say the game actually has an instuction that says that.Ginnerben wrote...
The thing is, there's no need to know what the weapon bar is.ZeroMystic wrote...So despite never even being made aware of the weapon bar in the first place like I amsupposed to be
You're told to left shift and mouseover your current weapon.
Read.
The.
Manual.
Can I get any clearer?

Mass Effect 2 has an intuitive control scheme. Basic human curiosity should lead you to discover what to do. The reason for intuitive control schemes is pretty simple... No one really wants to have to be told what to do. They want to solve the problem of how to do it if the problem is kept simple and similar to other interfaces. The general interface has been built up over years of gaming. You will learn that some keys are required for basic operation but that is in the user manual and once introduced to gaming you have a basic idea of how to work in all games. I shutter to think of you trying to play Portal.
That being said instruction manuals have become more abbreviated as audiences have become more sophisticated. It sounds like what you need is an in depth instruction manual to make up for a complete lack of gaming intuition. I would hazard a guess that you play a lot of casual games that have fairly comprehensive tutorials because there is a much lower bar that they are trying to please. Also they often have unique play elements to make them fun.
I am sorry you have had such a horrible experience playing what is a very simple interface. I would recommend you not try other games out unless you read their guide book first and can understand how to play from the guide book. I would absolutely insist that any game you get that you should also get a guide book.
Also further in ME 2 are 3 tutorials that show you how to play further. If you get there, then please work through those before posting back here. Also this is not the right thread as this is definitely a tech support issue and could probably have been more easily solved if you had posted there to begin with. Technical usage issues are a tech support issue.
