I've lost -51 points tops on that -- you may be able to lose more, but it would be rough.  The problem is the after talk triggers at +71.  That's a LOT of good happy to destroy, and the easiest way is to turn on the romance and crush him like an evil sadist.  But it will get him down to 0 in one conversation.

I didn't know that you needed +71, then you're right of course.
I have to admit, I'm tempted to play an Alistair hate run now too. So far his approval drops have always been unintentional (or rather my character not bending over backwards to please him), but this systematical approach does sound like fun.

Well, I have a new game goal.

I adore Alistair but I fangirl him the most when he's angry at or hating my Warden. It's like a sickness. There should be a law against any human being sounding so hot when they're furious; it's very confusing.

I know... but I say let's not find the cure. I prefer it that way. Angry Alistair... yum. ^_^

Man, I could never do a Ali-hate run. I'd be crying by the end of it. Alistair being my buddy is preferable, (with my character fantasizing about him sometimes lol). Usually with Zevran I just get enough approval with him for him to not betray me, and then ignore him.

I just started my City Elf and I already don't like this playthrough. I hate the elven story-lines, urgh. But I can't stand Zevran being shorter than me lol.

Alistair actually sounds pretty damn hot(hotter than he normally does any ways) when he hates you

Oddly enough, I've never been able to do this either.  And in all but one of my complete playthroughs, he winds up hating me anyway because I always spare Loghain.  But going through almost an entire game being mean to him just seems like too much.  Haha.

However, this thread is making me reconsider.  >.>

I would never spare Loghain... I'm in the same boat with Alistair when it comes to him, but have at least one playthrough where Alistair despises you. It's refreshing and fun... and utterly naughty. ^_^

Oh, just for Alistair's pissy greeting.

Alistair: (super pissy voice) What do you want now?

I prefer the "Whaaat!?" personally.

He sounds so much like a teenager whose mom keeps hollering for him. It's beautiful.

It really won't take you long.
Step 1: Put Alistair in your group.
Step 2: Tell him how much you hate Duncan and aren't excited to be in the GWs.
Step 3: Kill the prisoner at Ostagar.
Step 4: Side with the merchant (in a mean way) and intimidate the Chantry mother in Lothering.
Step 5: Continue to tell him off in his dialogues, especially about how he should stop whining about Duncan.
Step 6: Go to Redcliffe and let it be destroyed, kill Isolde or Connor, and yell back when he gets upset.

That should be all it takes to get him to -100. After that you can safely start a new character with only a few hours wasted. :innocent:

Heh, my current character did a lot of those things and it wasn't even my intention to make him hate me.

My Dalish despised Duncan and doesn't want to be a GW, she didn't kill the prisoner in Ostagar, but she killed the wounded soldier in the Korcari Wilds. She didn't get involved with the merchant situation or threaten the priest and she's not mean to him about his whining, but she can't bring herself to comfort him either. And yes, the Connor thing was the last nail in the coffin, that is their relationship. I mean, he flat out refuses to make any decisions or do any leading, tells Isolde during the conversation that although he hates the thought of kiling a child, it's probably the only option, get's really upset when Jowan brings up the Blood Magic ritual and then, back in camp, after everything is done (and done without any protest from him), he yells at my PC for killing Connor instead of using the ritual?!
Maybe Mother Theresa would have been able to say "[Persuade] I honestly did the best I could", but not my character.

And I already know, that even if I manage to get his approval up somehow, it will just drop again, as soon as he tells me about the Calling, because I know that my character will say that Duncan got what he deserved (yeah, she's that bitter about the whole abandon Tamlen / conscription thing).

So, you're absolutely correct, I don't even need a planned Alistair hate playthrough, I just let my character do her thing.

I love Alistair. I love Zevran. I have never run a game with Alistair hating me (except if I chose to let Loghain live). I have romanced him and gotten 100+ approval. I have also been just friends w/ 100+ approval. If I want to play as his friend, and not a romantic interest, I just choose responses that aren't TOO caring, have no flirtatious tones, and don't talk about anybody's looks.
Having read through some of these threads, I will seriously have to consider a playthrough where there's some hate going on. Sounds intriguing.
