This is for all the Direct2Drive customers who downloaded from Direct2Drive.
Follow these steps
This is my response to a open ticket with Direct2Drive
Hello I have solved this issue and will explain to you what the problem is, if you were not already aware. It would also seem my conclusion of this not being your error was a mistake.
1. D2D for whatever reason is having trouble registering their customers serial numbers with EA.
2. By having EA input our serial numbers via phone or other likewise support contacts manually and assigning them to our EA account emails.
3. Your Direct2Drive customers such as myself will then have to download EA Download Manager and log in. There we will see our content loaded. If we downloaded the game or extra content from you we will see it downloaded in this section or have the option to re-download or download for the first time. There we can activate all our content and successfully play the game.
I will leave this ticket open in case it helps you!

I allready tried this and it did not help me. I even re-downloaded the game via EADM and still I get the same error message. But ok so the problem when you get the "Error can not connect to EA Core is that the keys have not all been correctly registred?
If so, how come when I try to Re-register my key via EADM it says that the key is allready registred?

You have to have a customer support personnel physically assign your serial key to your email via the phone or live chat. This is not an issue you can solve on your end. You are not supposed to enter your activation key from D2D into EADM activation window. Call their Tech support and mention my above post. Tell them you are from D2D if you are. This may also work for Steam members but it has not yet been verified.

Call them? I'm in sweden it will cost me a fortune to call to the states? >< The Live chat option on their support page seems to have dissapeared for me, so can't use that either. And they are not replying to any of my emails either. But thanks for the info atleast I know the problem is not on my end =)

Use the link I supplied above in your browser as their live chat link is missing and no where to be found. I had to acquire it through other means. If that link does not work then try

I did my bit to the community time to enjoy the game! Good Luck!

Apparently my key was allready registred with EA and so that is not the problem either. Looks like I'm never gonna get to play the game of my dreams =/

This solution unfortunately does not work for people who purchased the game from D2D. It's very unfair - I have been very polite and followed the instructions given to me by the various tech support people I have talked to (despite the fact that it was obvious many of them had no idea what I was talking about), and though the solution seems to be to get them to manually attach the D2D serial number to our EA accounts, nobody seems to want to do that. It's very difficult for me to align my schedule to their tech support hours, and even when I manage to connect, it's nothing worth waiting for. Re-install, turn off anti-virus, and other generic solutions are all I get.
I wish this problem would be better known and perhaps that the EA people might do more to help us deal with it. It feels ridiculous, but I'm actually considering pirating a game I purchased legally because of all the trouble. If it truly does come to that, I am going to tell everybody I can as clearly as possible about how awful this whole experience was, and how when it comes to EA and possibly BioWare, piracy is easier than purchasing the actual product!
SOMEBODY HELP US ALREADY!!!

Ok, I can confirm that this is something that must be handled by EA themselves and this solution does work if EA does help. It is not on our end. You must have them link your serial number to your EA account, if you are a D2D person... good luck getting them to do it though. I got lucky today and my game seems to work now
