After completting the game with my origonal clear file imported from Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 2. I went back to the first game to start a new campaign from 1 and have my choices effect the second.
Except, after I cleared the game in the first game, I went to load my career data from ME1 and the text is shown as yellow.
I went back and started a new campaign with the clear data, but no go, and pressing "Resume" just starts me back at the Saren/Soverign fight.
Not sure which game has the issue here, but any tips?
Mass Effect 1 > 2 Importing, not sure which game is glitching.

ME1 creates a special end-game file each time you complete it, and only these are usable for ME1 New Game+ or ME2 importation. These are separate from the mid-game saves you make while playing ME1.
You should be able to start a ME1 New Game+ by choosing New Game -> Select Existing ID.
