At least with Garrus he sticks by you. Even Thane, though it's slightly sad loving a dyin gman.

I may be fighting a losing battle here, but that is so gross a misrepresentation of Kaidan's e-mail that words fail me.  I would characterize the e-mail like this:

"I'm sorry I was such an idiot on Horizon.  I've been struggling to move on from your death for two years... even tried going out with a doctor on the Citadel but my heart just wasn't in it.  Seeing you again, it's clear to me that you're the only one I could ever love.  I can't just forget everything that's happened since you died, but when your mission is over, look me up.  Maybe we can put the pieces of our relationship back together."

Haha, clearly you are less cynical than I am. That was just a personal interpretation of Kaidan's email :)

No, that is you being someone who didn't get to know the characters well enough to understand the person angr. Hell with his experience with BAAT I think he would have a freaking right to be mad at you.  I'm working with a Terrorist group that did experiments on children which BAAT also did

I´ve got a problem, I don´t know if I should stick with Kaidan or move on to thane. I talked to thane(Romance) until he said what Siha means. Then I said" Were different, cant replace wife" and he like " blabla...I hope you don´t mind if i carry you in my heart"
Heart melting line or what???Image IPB
But when I start a relation and goes this far,(The picture of kaidan is still in my room) do you guys think It will make an impact in ME3?
guess!

This equals a Catharsis for me a bit.  I have multiple playthroughs to accomodate this. When I romanced Liara, I had to Virmire Kaidan.  And I still haven't finished my canon playthrough (She romances Kaidan) in Me2 yet.  Suppose there is always waiting to recruit Thane till the very end, but that's no fun:unsure:

I hope it does make an impact, but who knows what is going to happen in ME3 at this point?  I have a cheating save ready for ME3 to see what happens . . .a male Shepard cheats on Liara with, well, haven't decided yet :D

If they do not cure Thane (Oh noes! D: ), perhaps it will have no impact, because Tali and Garrus will not acknowledge the fact that Shepard had previously romanced Kai/Ash/Liara, even if you bring them along to Horizon/Illium.  If Thane is alive and a squadmate in ME3, there may be some sort of confrontation scene, but I have a feeling the romances, regardless of who it is will have to be actively pursued all over again.

I'm not sure about that. You get the impression from Bioware that there will be some sort of confrontation if you cheat. In their own words, there will be consequences for cheating. I imagine that means a confrontation and/or the ME1 romance partner getting hurt and possibly leaving. I could see the ME2 romance person getting hurt as well. The safest way to go is just to have one partner to avoid anyone of them getting hurt.

Any of my Shepard's who have Kaidan is staying with Kaidan. I have one or two who are romance free and I did like Thane. Flirted with Garrus but decided just to stay friends.
I blame Anderson. My Shepard went to see him first thing and explained what was going on. Anderson didn't pass any of it on to Kaidan and wouldn't give me any way to contact him. so all Kaidan knows is he's been sent to Horizon to check out the possibility of cerberus' role in the disappearances and the rumor that Shepard is alive and working with them.
As for his dating someone else. It's been 2 years for him and he has just started dating again. I understand and would be more concerned if he was still spending his time all alone. I liked his e-mail and plan on reconnecting with him.
Just like Irene and Cary in My Favorite Wife or Doris and James in Move over Darling. I'll make him remember why he said he loved me on Horizon.
edited spacing.

I personally like Kaidan better than Thane, and my FemShep has stayed true to him so far. Granted I plan on have a save where I cheat, but that's just to see what happens. I've heard that cheating will have consequences, and that people who stay true to the ME1 LI will get some sort of bonus in ME3 to make up for not having a romance in ME2

That said for my unattached FemSheps, I like Thane best out of the ME2 LIs, although I'll probably run a save with each of them just to see how it carries over.

I was mostly with you till you wrote this. How does Garrus "stick with you"? Or Thane for that matter?

And though Thane romance can actually be called that, as far as I can tell Garrus "romance" is basically sex between two people who think well of each other. I mean the "romance" literally starts with Shepard telling Garrus, "let's get it on" and Garrus replying, "sure, sounds good to me... I guess."

There is the risk of Thane getting a flashback of one of his girlfriends, or his wife when he sleeps with you ...?

I've wondered this, but he probably doesn't share memories he doesn't want to, ya know :wizard:

Thane. Kaiden is nice, and one of my Sheps stays faithful to him, but in general, he over-thinks things and is too wrapped up in himself+Shep-on-a-pedestal. Practically had to drag him in to the relationship kicking and crying.

Thane is so sweet when he opens up to you, and doesn't stick you on a pedestal. Or if he does, he's right there beside you, sniping away the bad guys.

I understand the characters well enough, thank you. I can understand why he would be mad at Shepard, but his continued denial of what she is saying (based on the fact that he should know Shepard very well) doesn't compute for me. Kaidan knows that, like Shepard said her/himself, that they would only do it for the right reasons. Still doesn't add up for me.

It's honestly because he's hurt and lashing out. Here's someone he loves who died 2 years earlier. He probably blames himself for her death to some degree "Why didn't I go with her? I could have stopped it." And one day she just shows up without a word, working for a group with who performed horrible experiments. Kaidan doesn't know any good things Cerberus might have done, only the reprehensable things. He's been mourning, trying to move on and out of nowhere Shepard shows up. No call, no note. This person you've never been able to get over is suddenly there and doesn't seem to need or want you at all.

To be honest, if I were in Shepard's place, I would have at least tried to find him. She was still involved with him when she died. It might have been two years for the rest of the galaxy, but it was no time at all for her. And that was bad writing on Bioware's part. I understand why it happened, but Shepard makes no attempt to reclaim his/her life. "De De De. I was dead. It's been two years for the rest of the galaxy but no time for me whatsoever. Now I'm going to completely ignore the fact there was a person I was building a life with and galavant around the galaxy trying to save it."

And sometimes when you overwhelmed and overwrought you just say things. It's like your standing there hearing and seeing yourself talk, and not really feeling like your actually there. Your just sort of aside, watching it all take place.

I romanced Kaiden in ME1, so in ME2 all I could do was say "where's Kaiden? Where's Kaiden?" And When I raced thru the game, got to Horizon and then got rejected by him, I was very disappointed with the game! I actually stopped playing, took a break (only for a few hours though) and thought about it (lame I know!)

Then I moved on to Thane.

But I couldn't stop thinking of Kaiden, so on my second playthrough I was loyal to him. What can I say, I like to stay with the original love interests ;)

Agreed, that's what I thought. If someone disappeared and was considered dead then popped up two years later, I would be hurt and angry, it would be like going through the same grieving process all over again.

As much as I like Thane, he's a frog. (Yeah, yeah, this is the time you call me a xenophobe, but you can also see that he is member of an alien species. Therefore he is alien.)

So my word is on Kaidan.
