I have a question I was hoping someone can help me with for a ME1 playthrough that I'm building up to be exactly how I want it. I would like to get the option to paragon Ashley about her view on aliens before I get a confrontation scene with her and Liara, after which I want to pursue the romance with Liara.
I know that you get that option pretty late on the conversations with Ashley. My question is, if you reached that point in the conversation with Ashley, is it still possible to get the confrontation scene with her and Liara, or did the romance progressed too much for that to still happen?
Question about turning Ashley paragon

Well usually her view changes the more you talk /romance her.. However, you can't change it completely. It's not like KOTOR II where your crew's morality mimics your own. Each squad member has their own distinct beliefs and Shepard doesn't have THAT much power of persuasion to change it.

There is no flag in the save file to indicate whether Ashley was pushed towards Paragon or not (like there is for Garrus), so unless you romance her your conversations with Ashley will have no affect in ME2.

Uhm - Ashley, no matter what, will always stay a bit 'renegade' - family history (story wise).
Don't bother, your characters (with exception of Garrus) will always hold their own beliefs. You can always get to change it just a little bit, but not too much in general
