I always liked the Alliance. The Council, too. Even the damned Turian. A politician who doesn't make you want to punch them sooner or later isn't doing their job.

Haha, well said. Everyone hates The Council. I still save them, because even in the event you work for Cerberus and that's considered treason, they still respect you saving their lives and reinstate your spectre status. I'm sure that will play out well in ME3.

Suddenly Jack's suggestion to take up pirating doesn't seem all that bad anymore.

I pray this is an option in ME3.  I was upset you couldn't agree to it when Jack suggested it in ME2.

'Hell yeah!  F**k Cerberus!  Let's do it Jack!'

I think Liara is pretty preoccupied with the Shadow Broker nowadays.

I'll stick with pirating.

if you need the krogan that much you better just jump of a cliff and do the dying yourself rather than wait for the reapers to do it.

Shep should just take Jack's advice and go pirate, that would allow  him to fund his endeavors. And if Garrus can assemble a team of ex merc's, cop's, civillians, who's to say shep can't become a warlord and raise his own army to fight the reapers.

I liked my game better when the council is destroyed and the new one has a human chairman. They seem more proactive in investigating threats instead of talking and bickering. I honestly don't mind Cerberus either. They do help you a lot and they never really  screwed me over personally (The collector ship mission is as close as it comes to that). I have no reason to hate them.

Is there no good political power to be found in the galaxy anymore? No governmental body which can be trusted at all? I spent much of ME2 feeling totally alone and bailed on by the people I had fought for.

All the good guys I defended in the first game turned away from me, after everything I did. They all hung me out to dry. The Council won’t believe me, even called me a fool. The Alliance turned the cold shoulder and refused to help.

So who’s left? The bad guys. Cerberus. The ones I don’t want to work with. The ones who are corrupt. The ones I am blamed for affiliating with by my former allies even though they leave me absolutely no choice in the matter.

Is there no dependable side that I can count on? I feel like there’s no one anymore. Everyone’s either stupid, useless or corrupt. I’m really not even sure my trust in the Council and the Alliance is even salvageable anymore for ME3, even though I did destroy the Collector base and will be fighting on their side.

You're assuming that there ever was a "Good" political power?  Hate to tell you, even in video games, there is no such thing.  You want something you can count on? Try that Shotgun or Assault Rifle strapped to your back.  Because every good soldier (or place specified class here) knows that it's the only true "friend" you'll have when push comes to shove. I feel the same way.. I've got the Geth, Rachni, all my squadmates, Clan Urdnot, most of the Quarians and the potential to blackmail Cereberus with the information I kept for myself that could have destroyed them.. So I have my own army..

Hey, I completed that Krogan initation ceromony as much as Grunt did, and I took down the Maw, I kept their leader alive AND I saved one of their scouts.

I should be Urdnot Shepard!

I am still a spector. Why burn bridges but certainly Shepard does seem to be able to rely on non-citadel races such as geth, quarians, Arachni and Krogan more then the citadel races such as Turians, Humans, Salarians and Asari

The Turian council doesn't bother me, even he's not as bad as real politicians.

Beggars can't be choosers, they say. Besides, I'm fairly optimistic that the Council, the Alliance and the others will eventually come around. At the latest, when their own royal backsides are directly in the line of fire....

Sure, it would be easier if Shepard were the Emperor of the Milky Way.

Who the human dominated council with Anderson in charge? Never had that problem, though they still don't face reality that it's the reapers. However  you do see the difference in the news broadcasts. If you saved the council, they bicker and the council says humans should solve their own problems regarding their missing colonies and batarian incursions. If it's human dominiated they investigate it and with the Batarians they'll send in their dreadnaught Everest.

The council at this point just seems like bad writing. That's kinda my big problem with ME 2, the rest of the galaxy acts like the PLOT demands, rather than in a believable manner. :( But that having been said, you never do talk to the Alliance, nor are you given the option. You only speak to Anderson and he's retired.

The whole of ME 2 is on rails. I understand why mind you, but it's still disappointing.

Well, Wrex can be relied upon.

Plus, with the officially most badass team in recorded history, a very dangerous intelligent ship, one very good information broker as an ally...I'd say that freelancing is an option. With a little mercenary work/pirating for money=)

And don't forget Geth and Rachny.

Agreed. I too kind of like the Council.
And I don't even wish death to the turian councilor, though I do wish to throw his quote back at him when he'll need his hide to be saved from the Reapers=) Then go and save him anyway, and seeing him apologising to Shepard. With extreme humility.
Lol, a girl can dream...)
