The really dumb thing about the ending to ME2 is that your ONLY options are:

- Give base to TiM

- Destroy base

.. except that the SR2 is the only ship with the IFF (which is a specific piece of reaper tech, so it's the only ship that can use it), so Shepard can give the base to anybody he damn well wants to. Why can't I turn the base over to the Alliance, or to the Council? Why can't I give it to the Quarians or the Krogans?

Is there no dependable side that I can count on? I feel like there’s no one anymore. Everyone’s either stupid, useless or corrupt. I’m really not even sure my trust in the Council and the Alliance is even salvageable anymore for ME3, even though I did destroy the Collector base and will be fighting on their side.

Well, I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying that you're building the entity you can count on.  You've been building a coalition of races and organizations that either owe you, care about or flat out worship in some way or another.  (Geth, Quarians, Rachi, Wrex's Krogan) as well as putting together a leadership structure with your team.

You've also been gathering technology/ordinence to fight the Reapers, most notably, the Normandy.

Plus, there's still the matter or your brain holding the prothean cypher from the Thorian that may help you find something that the Protheans found.

Not to mention, you have enough intelligence from the Collectors to go to the Council and Alliance, not to mention blackmail material to at least get co-operation from Cerberus.

You're hoping for people to rely on, you've been gathering them this whole time.

Do you really want the psycho Admiral with the ability to indoctrinate and build a Reaper?  To say nothing about how frightening the idea of Krogan with that tech is.

Way off topic : I really like Dominica, nicest bunch of chaps I ever met, aside from Norwegians.

I've heard it is very nice, although I've never beeen there myself. But they do have a hell of a scam going as a corporate shelter/tax refuge. You see there are only 20 people licensed to practice law on Dominica. So they can pass whatever laws they need to to keep other countries happy as a gesture of diplomacy, it doesn't matter. Because if the corporations keep all 20 lawyers on retainer it's impossible to sue them because you can't use any of the licensed lawyers due to conflict of interest. Posted Image

Going pirate is sounding pretty good right now . . . and I'm a Paragon.

Well, as a Paragon you could raid other pirates and raiders, lol. For justice *and* profit=)

Howdy Thoombs, how's that merc company of yours going?
He has a good intel network, even pre-ME2 he was able to track down every Cerberus operative involved in the Akuze incident. He's built up a merc group, and i could use a trained fighting force that has experience Crushing Cerberus Operations. Share the info that EDI has thanks to the blocks being removed, and he'll be our best friend.
A sole Survivor could really use a man like him at his/her side :)

Yeah, he's scarily competent despite being a psychological wreck.  Kind of like my Renegade Shepard, his old squaddie, in fact.  I think there was something wrong in the head with the dudes from that squad to be honest.

There was nothing wrong with them. They were a very well trained fighting force, with 50 soldiers. Cerberus chose a skilled group of Marines to go, to test them vs. Thresher Maws,
Testing went well, unfortunatly...

Hmm . . . I'd probably end up going "Twinblade" on their arses.

Power corrupts and absolute power is . . . awesome.

Looks like a lot of people want the "flip everyone the bird" ending from Vampire: Bloodlines.

Man I loved that ending. Everyone was playing you and busting your balls (just like in this game). Then you went FTW and everyone left 'alive' (they're undead but ok) after the end was stunned you just wiped virtually all your enemies. As a reward for them not pissing you off too much you flipped them off.

Priceless.

You're assuming the councils unwillingness to help is incompetence. Maybe they are playing a deeper game.

As long time council members the older races can't be happy about the meteoric rise of humanity. I imagine they were pretty humiliated by having to be saved by the upstarts. Then after your heroic death. suddenly you show up again working for cerberus a notoriously anti-alien group. Obviously, its would appear to them that humanity is angleing again to cut them out of the glory and gain still more influence. It seems to me they would do what they can to insure that whatever happens this time, humanity won't get all the credit for stopping this particular threat.

The whole "We need more evidence." line is all about stall tactics. They'll reinstate your spectre status so they still get some residual credit for your actions if you should succeed, but they won't really support you in any way to hopefully hamstring you.

Anderson doesn't know anything about it, because he is basically an outsider on the council.

Remember Virmire? They had operations going on you knew nothing about it seems likely that's the case here. I highly doubt the Turians are just flitting about flapping their mandibles instead of building their forces.
